Its not. One of the reasons I'm talking to plastics manufacturers about Polypropylene films. This 50 thou BOPP sample would do the job nicely, and I could even get it as finished bags of the right size (with a seam up the back, like chip packets) for under ten cents.

Quote from: 'purplepennyhunter' pid='95981' dateline='1472426924'It is when you got the coin designer to sign it. :yahoo:

I didn't have one for her to sign. So I spent an hour or so talking to her instead. :)

Didn't get her name, and didn't realise it was covered in the pic. Anybody know? This is Adonis Cox though (odd name for a girl):

Actually, its the new iPod, and still had the plastic over the lens. :(

And, in other news...

Ron Black just left here after delivering my order (what a nice man). We had a bit of a chat, and he mentioned the forum member who rang him and abused him over these rolls... NOT COOL! I won't name the offender, but I wasn't surprised to learn who it was. Lets leave it at that.

Also, you may be interested to know I tripped over a Prosegur crew coming out of Woolies. I expressed some surprise, and said "I thought Armaguard did all the Woolies deliveries?" to which the reply was "Not any more". This store had Armaguard bags last week, and this morning it was all standard bank bags and no Olympics at all. Might be something to watch, eh?

robbiegal

well we do have our opinions here and banter and rant, as we do!!!
and we conjuncture our points of view on the morality of the granny bait collecting
being collectors we are naturally more emotive

but that is maybe a bit extreme!

the man is just making a living selling other peoples' coins and products as most dealers do
some dealers choose the 'who' do business with differently, that is all it is I suppose

ausjack

Yes if things aren't to my liking or I think they're over priced (as most are on my budget) I don't buy them, but I'll still put my two cents worth in :)

The parra Olympic carded coins have sold out already on the RAM shop site.
With a mintage of 2 million they vanished rather quickly.

Well what would you expect when "someone" is putting them into rolls :dodgy:

If that's what happened then that is a pretty ordinary state of affairs.

I would think that Mr Cotton would not be adverse to putting $75 worth of coins into one of his wrappers and add $100 to the price

To be fair, he does have other overheads besides the coins themselves. Rolling machines aren't exactly cheap, for starters.

But they might be able to be written of in tax and don't worry I think he'll make a fair profit on his venture and we will see many more rolls to come with other new releases and someone that can afford to send 20,000 coins in one submission isn't short of a dollar.

Oh, absolutely.

What will be interesting to watch will be the prices on future rolls. If this lot were priced to recover capital costs, the price should drop significantly next time. We shall see, eh?

Yes it will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years that's for sure.
