Yes there's some very funny and quick witted people on here that's for sure and love some of the stuff some come up with, makes me near fall of my chair sometimes, I love you lot :friends:

I wonder if it was because you added a bit while I was writing, anyway it's all good and I've got it all up now :)

I am thinking that in 6 months time these Olympic coins will be regarded much the same as the last lot of newsgroup 20/25 cent coins are now
When the first uncoloured "Poppy" coin was released as a circulation coin I was pretty excited and the coloured one from the RSL was pretty special as well.
Then came the first coloured circulating Purple coin which also had my attention.
As more of these coloured coins were released the less I was interested in them and now this latest batch of 6 different coins has pretty much put these into the "Meh" category for Me now.

So what about 50 years of echidna, lyrebird and platypus coins then? Aren't you bored with them too? Not to mention those oh-so-staid predecimals... :P

Has anyone noticed the paralympic folders have the coin slipped in with plastic half covering the coin and the top half free to the elements (that's at the back of the folder on the obv). Doesn't appear to be ideal to leave these in the folder.

The standard design decimal coins are collector friendly.
They don't cost an arm and a leg and you don't have to jump through hoops just to acquire them unlike these coloured $2 trinkets, which makes collecting them a pleasing experiance  :ok:

Heaven forbid that we remove the coins from  the folder just to protect the integrity of the coin, after all the folder is the most important thing :laugh2:

yeah PP
we notices that the coin isn't even sitting fully in the sleeve

i reckon they could end up similar to the original mint sets from 1966 look - 2/3 coin under the plastic and one third out with subsequent toning (i always get suss of the 1966 sets in the full 1969 onwards sleeves)

I haven't seen these yet but if the coin can be removed from the folder I cant see a drama putting the coin in a saflip and storing the folder separately :ok:
