Quote from: 'Mister T' pid='109812' dateline='1498990645'I did seven rolls of 50c pieces today - I got a New South Wales and a Victoria Centenary of Federation but no Milleniums.

With nearly 17 million of the Millennium coins minted one would think that they would be quite a common coin to find in your change or noodling.
I rarely see these in my change

It's not a matter of how many were made. It's a matter of how many other coins they have to compete with for a space in your wallet. Between 1969 and 2015, there were 960 million 50c coins released into circulation. Thus, the millennium coins make up only 1.77% of all circulating 50c coins, or about 1 in 56. Hence, if you only receive one 50c coin every time you go to the shops, you'll have to make (on average) more than 50 trips to get a millennium coin. The odds are even lower once you add the 2016 and 2017 coins into the mix. :ok:

Still none.

Yeah normally I'd get a couple from that many 50c pieces.

Almost forgot that I found a Tongan 50 seniti too - first time I've found a foreign 50c that isn't Fijian.

Gee that's not a common find Mr T! :good: Haven't come across one of them yet.

Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Nice find Kel (I've only found a few 2017 50c pieces so far).

Mister T

A family member found a 2017 Lest We Forget $2 in change. Pretty unexpected.

Hercules

Were they based in Brisbane? All the reported discoveries I've seen of this coin so far have come from Victoria.

Hmm I got this a while back and have been meaning to ask, but what do you guys think. Is this a die fill? 'E', 'A' and 'H' of ELIZABETH seems to be 'missing' apart from a faint imprint. It'll be pretty cool if it is, given it's low mintage. It's a 2011 $2 by the way.

Nevol

Yep, die fill. Nice find!:yahoo:
