Pedro

Sorry Uni, yes it the first roo.

Very unusual place for a cud eh! I think that's a first Pedro!!!!

Pedro

Yep, I haven't seen anything in that spot on a 2015 $1 before.

For that matter, I'm not sure if I can remember cuds there on any other years either - they usually sit on the top of the back rather than being internal.

Found this while noodling that night. Just wanted to get opinions on this. I haven't seen one of these in my limited experience, but does anyone have any insight regarding how these coins turn out like that? They seem to have a triple rim going. Thanks!

p.s. apologies for the humongous images!

Nevol

Have you checked the edge to see whether or not it's a collar error?

A partial collar might explain why it appears as it does. I have 5c collar errors for all years 2000-2008 (except 2007) and they all appear to have extra rims. It seems to have been pretty common  during those years as I have multiples for some years.

This is a 2005 one as an example of what to look for.

Thanks for getting back Nevol! Nope the milling at the side is as per normal. Not affected at all, so I doubt it's a partial collar. I've got a 2000 partial collar and compared it. Doesn't seem quite the same haha.

Oh well, I guess you'll just have to put it down as an off centre strike.

That's the only other thing I can think of that might have caused it, unless someone else can come up with another idea.

A couple of cuds in places I haven't seen before (at least on those years)

2010 50c - long cud on RHS of the emu's neck

2012 50c - cud at the bottom of the downstroke of the 5/on kangaroo's foot

I have one each  similar on 2004 & 2009, but still very different.

Never seen a cud on the 5 like that one.

Good finds!:yahoo:

I thought I had another year where there was a long cud on the emu's neck Nancy but can't seem to find it in my list :dash1:

Here's another first find - 2016 50c with cud in reeds next to the emu as well as cuds in the plumage of the emu.

Pedro

Mister T

Got three rolls of 20c pieces to look through (as well as some other stuff I haven't looked at) - two of the rolls had a 2004 big head each. I felt like I was overdue but I wasn't expecting that.

Nice finds Mister T!
I did a bit of noodling and found my first "2017 lest we forget $2" as well as a blue olympic $2

Unicorn

Top work Pedro, I don't think I've found any of those! :good:

Two from three rolls is pretty good going Mr T!!!

Hercules

Armaguard's been very good to me with the large heads, so I can't say I'm terribly surprised. I got two big heads from 12 rolls once, but two from three rolls is even better. Keep up the good work, everyone! :good:

Mister T

I did seven rolls of 50c pieces today - I got a New South Wales and a Victoria Centenary of Federation but no Milleniums.
