I don't get 10¢ specifically for noodling but just put any I get in change into a container (5¢ similar). When the container is full I noodle them and cash in all the rejects.
I have three 1985 so far.

[And four 1972 5¢.]

P.S. I have never found a 2011 10¢. Anyone up for a swap for a 1985?

Hi Erik and Ozcoins,

Please don't feel bad about it. I've never found a 1985 10c in change, and I had to noodle $480 worth of 10c coins in order to find one. In order to find the second one, I had to noodle another $768 worth of 10c coins, which means I've only found two 1985s from $1248 worth of 10c coins. That's a pretty low return if you ask me, and none of them are in very good condition.

Hi Jeff,

You're doing much better than me with the 1985 10c. As mentioned above, I've never found one in change, and I've only been able to noodle two of them so far. As for the 1972 5c, I've only ever found one in change, but I've noodled another five since then. I've also got twelve 2011 10c, all of which were from noodling, but I don't really want to swap with you because I feel as if I'd be short-changing you. A 1985 10c is worth much more to me than a 2011 10c, and if I were you, I'd be holding on to them with an iron grip. :laugh2:

jeff , I think I have one 2011x 10c some where here , if I can find it , its yours. I remember last year I spoke about a 2012 x 10c on the forum and was reminded it was a 2011 that was scarce not the 2012 x 10 c , I will have a good look this week .before I go to bribie and let you know .   ,, kel ,,

Keldaw, I can't believe you'd send him the only one you have. I don't mind sending him a few of my 2011s. I just feel uncomfortable taking one of his 1985s in return. :winkextra:

JeffH

Kel,
If you only have one don't send it. You should keep at least one of every year for yourself.

Jeff , has done me a lot of favors over the years , and I don't mind repaying him this way , but if he gets one from some where else that's good , but I would not like to see him go without a coin that he does not have , so if he gets one ok , but he will never go without anything that he wants and I have . this also goes for any body else that has helped me out on the forum since I have been a member .
as long as you don't ask for one of my mules .

that's ok herc , make it a gift then , I am sure jeff would thank you for it and remember he has given members of this forum great deals and extras ,when they have bought coins from him . very honest man, that and other honest members is the reason that this is a great forum .

Last week I promised Uni I I would post a picture of a filled die $1. Could not do as internet was not available until last night.
I have just realised I probably phrased my promise poorly -it is not another 1999, as I appeared to be implying, but a completely different year. Poor condition coin but good fill.

I think I have some die fills posted in my gallery.

Cool Jeff! :good: That makes obverse fills for consecutive years 1984, 85 & 86. You filled the gap so to speak!

JeffH

Indeed you do. I just had a look and some of yours shame my little fill.

The best thing Jeff was that you've found an 85! 1985 had some pretty hard to find errors with the rabbit ears and the 3rd roo tail to 2nd roo cud.

Jeff / Goldie, which of your (Goldie's) galleries are they in?

JeffH

I actually found a 1985 today in the range of EF to aUNC -no errors though.
Also a 1997 "Smithie" easily UNC with beautiful golden/bronze (and quite even) toning.

I found a 2006 50th Anniversary of Television $1 last night, with a 'C' mintmark. It was in almost perfect condition, so I must be one of the first people to lay eyes on it after it was spent.

Pedro

Some good finds there guys :ok:
