Quote from: 'Ozcoins' pid='107447' dateline='1491290242'Found my first 50 years of decimal currency $1 last night.
Unfortunately, it looks like the mob of Roos has has a slight run in with a grinder...
:(

I went on another $1 noodle last night, but still didn't get any Changeover ones. However, I did find a Centenary of Australian Coinage dollar, which almost made up for it. :)

Quote from: 'humpybong' pid='107451' dateline='1491308687'Can some one give me a definition or is there a definition somewhere I can look up.

From the Macquarie Dictionary:

Noodle (3): 1. to search carefully for opal through a bucket of dirt sent up to the surface. 2. to sift dumps or mullock heaps searching for opal missed by the miner.

We use the same definition, except we apply it to coins and banknotes rather than opal. :ok:

A couple of different cuds:

2013 50c - unusual shaped cud under Queen's chin.

2016 $1 - internal saddle-shaped cuds on the back of both the top kangaroo and the 2nd kangaroo - a bit of an extension to one Hercules posted a few weeks ago.

Gee a flavour saver and a goatie! Lizzie sure is a trend setter! Great pics Pedro!

Hercules

I'm looking forward to seeing what the cuds look like on Charlie, although I'm not particularly rapped in seeing him on my coins. I wish they'd hurry up and use the Jody Clark portrait before Lizzie dies. :winkextra:

Hi, We noodled out 39 x 1972 x 5 cents. Came amongst others in Bank reusable bags. Perhaps somebody cashed out what they didn't want. regards ErikP[attachment=3646]

Thanks Pedro, yes a pleasant surprise. Most appear to have been wild but 1/2 dozen unmarked. Can't see us bothering with 5c noodling for a while..... Regards ErikP

Hercules

That would seriously stuff up my stats, but I'm very pleased for you. I'm going to keep noodling the 5c because I'm trying get the Changeover one, but it looks like I'll have to be content with the ones I purchased directly from the mint. :good:

Extraordinary result Erik!!! I'm with Pedro ..... simply WOW! :good:

ErikP

Hi, Thanks for the thumbs up. 400 coins ($20 worth) means 72s are 9.8% of wild 5c??? Not that hard to find. For stats, Rightly so ignore. There were also quite a few nice about uncirculated 70's era 5c amongst them  Regards ErikP

I just had a very successful night noodling. This is what I found:

My 10th 1994 Year of the Family 50c with Wide Date
My 8th 2004 Standard 20c with Large Head / Pointy A (including the one I found several years ago in someone else's change)
My 2nd 1985 Standard 10c
My 1st 2016 Changeover 5c

Unfortunately, the 1985 10c was rather dirty, but considering that it took me over a year of regular noodling to find another one, I almost went into cardiac arrest. The same occurred when I found the Changeover 5c, but at least I was half expecting to find one, so I got over the initial shock much quicker.

Pedro

Some good stuff there Hercules. 8 pointy As is very impressive!

Pedro

Hercules

Thanks, Pedro. I reckon they sent most of the Pointy As to Brisbane.

Here's a photo of my 1985 10c. :yahoo:

ErikP

Hi Herc, beat us on this 10c we have never noodled 1985, cheers ErikP

I think I have only found 1 1985 10c.
Although I look through less 10c than other denominations, I still expected to find more of them by now.
