robbiegal

thanks for that Fordie
I was looking for something this morning and found my two boxes of decimal 'stuff' and thought it time to pop PNC's, MYO etc. into my two packets of PNC pages
well, filled the 10 pages in a flash and still have two almost completely full boxes of my decimal 'junk' as I affectionately call it

I must confess that I am always saying how I don't collect decimals - not true!! I have oodles of the blighters!

by the end of next week, all of my MYO coins and other things from many years will be neatly holdered  .... I hope

postage was a flat rate of $7.95
and the items were cheaper than where I source the locally - even with coin club member discount!

much appreciated xx

I finally found my missing page of commemorative dollars:

robbiegal

emu666

They were hiding in amongst some pages of platypus 20c.

The 1988 dollar was the second commemorative dollar released.
I find the aboriginal art representation of a kangaroo appealing.
This coin was released into circulation and also appeared in the 1988 mint set. Exceptional high grade examples can be found from the mint sets (but as usual you have to look through quite a few sets).

The next commemorative dollar coin was issued in mint sets and various forms of packaging (but not into circulation) in 1992.
The Barcelona dollar can be found in high grade - it is worthwhile checking a few mint sets to find a coin with strong mint bloom and minimal bagmarks.
Mine is an MS67; I obtained it from a fellow collector who had just upgraded to an MS68.

1993 saw the release of the first mintmark dollars and, near the end of the year, the release of the first business strikes in five years.

The best examples of the 1993 Landcare dollar ( see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landcare_Australia) can be found in the mint sets although occasionally a well preserved mint mark dollar can be found.

The 1994 mintmark dollar commemorates the tenth anniversary of the dollar coin.
These were released in plastic wallets so now of course the coins are covered in pvc residue.

We had a batch of original wallets. After carefully removing the pvc we submitted the best 20 to PCGS.
This one was the best and I just had to keep it for myself:

The 1995 Waltzing Matilda dollar is often heavily toned if found in its original folder of issue. Finding these in extremely high grade is a real challenge.

emu666 that is the best example of the decade dollar I have seen

Like the 1993 dollar, the 1996 Parkes dollar was issued as a circulating coin, mint set coin and mintmark dollar.
Really high grade ones are easiest to find as mintmark dollars but you can also get spectacular examples from mint sets.

The 1997 "plane" Kingsford Smith dollar was released as a normal circulation strike and in mint sets. Most of the really high grade specimens will come from mint sets (but watch for milky toning on the coin as that severely lowers its grade) although I recently was able to look through an original mint bag and plucked out quite a few good enough for sets (MS65 and better).

I received the last of the coins I needed to complete my set today.
The 2009 Steve Irwin coin, What a great Australian to finish the set :yahoo:
Now it is only a matter of getting the new releases as they appear :dance2:
