There's an easy fix. Don't order anything and the poor darlings can catch up, then sit around contemplating their navels until they get made redundant. :diablo:

I am pretty sure that it isn't the poor buggers on the shop floor that are at fault here.
Maybe if management reduced the amount of different coin issues or employed extra staff to handle the extra work load then we wouldn't have these delays :ok:

You do realise there are businesses which deal with tens or hundreds of thousands of product lines, which manage to pick and despatch enormous volumes of orders every single day?

Not just the Amazons of the world either. There are lots of such businesses, both online and in the bricks and mortar world.

And one of these could straighten out the clowns at the mint in a day or two.

Quote from: 'JeffH' pid='99443' dateline='1475554764'Nothing yet on my order of changeover baggies of 5th September.
I have just received my credit card statement and was charged for that order on 6th September!
I think that is, at least, rather rude, if not downright unethical.

I also ordered 4x sets of the baggies when the $2 coin was made available and I also haven't had a delivery notification.
However I ordered 2x 25mm silver proofs and a set of baggies on 9th September and these have been delivered :dodgy:
The increasing size and frequency of eBay resellers orders from RAM must be having a detrimental effect on the speed our orders are processed and I suspect that these larger volume orders are given priority regardless of when they are ordered.
I doubt very much that orders are dispatched in the same order that they are received :(

And they do say that credit card payments will be processed within 48 hours. That is the case; in fact usually within 24 hours.
What do they do with all the money paid with orders but product not shipped for a month or two? (Rhetorical question -no need to answer.)

Nancy ordered changeover baggies the same day I did and received them last week. No sign of any action on mine. No "first in, first served" procedure here.

Not at all.

They actually have spies in here, taking notes. Misbehavers are put on the bottom of the list. Think of it as a RAM Naughty 'n' Nice list.

Stirrer! :taunt:
I would make an email enquiry about my order but their site says "Due to the high volume of emails we have been receiving, there is a slight delay  in response times. The Mint will endeavor to answer all emails as soon as possible."
I can read between the lines as well as the next person [Note non gender, politically correct wording. :laugh2:]

I was going to post a picture of it in use, but I'm not sure of the NSFW policies around here. ;)

I have sent emails twice recently and have had no reply to either. :(

I think that once an order is placed with the RAM, your payment is taken as soon as possible.   Once that payment has cleared, a dispatch order is sent into the mailing department of the RAM.   With the number of coins being minted and ordered, it's no wonder there are delays in dispatch and receipt.

Then on top of all that, once dispatched, one received a dispatch email.   Just think of how many people the RAM have on the payroll.

I think a little more patience would be needed.

Had a small win with the ramshop.. managed to get all the "50th Anniversary of Decimal Currency" bags in one order.. aka one postage cost.

Now on the front page of the shop..
"Due to high demand we are currently experiencing a shipment delay on some products. Orders may take 4 – 6 weeks to arrive from date of purchase."

is that permanent and casual

so many govvie jobs now are 'temps' and those temps aren't counted anywhere

Most likely plus temps, I'd guess.

Every time I have had to ring RAM about an order the person on the receiving end has always been pleasant and courteous So I would forget all about emailing as I think that they have the same operating procedures as PCGS
This year has been the absolute worst for shipping delays and I think that this is due more to the sheer volume and size of orders Than it has to do with the work ethics of the people in the shipping department at RAM.
This "Drop Selling" and the marked increase in activity on the secondary market for new releases would also have an impact on RAM's ability to Ship on time.
There is also the problem where some of the orders for the secondary market are so large that they strip the supplies available and more coins have to be manufactured .
We have seen all sorts of new shenanigan's where RAM products are concerned on eBay, facebook and the like that has had an impact on supplies and availability from the RAM Shop as well.

I doubt that RAM has increased the staffing levels in the shipping department to cover this increase in activity and that is why we are having all these bloody annoying delays :ok:

I really think you are vastly overestimating the impact of these fantasies.

Amazon ships 375 million parcels a year. At a loss.

"This statistic illustrates Amazon.com's annual shipping revenue and outbound shipping costs from 2006 to 2015. In 2015, Amazon's shipping revenue amounted to 6.52 billion US dollars whereas the company's outbound shipping costs came to 11.54 billion US dollars. Net shipping costs in the year amounted to 5.02 billion U.S. dollars."

OK, not everybody is as smart as Amazon....

Kogan did 30,000 orders taken and shipped in six hours.

This bullshit about how the RAM is overwhelmed is just that. Bullshit. They could easily supply every collector in the country, and every dealer, ebay or otherwise, several times over. They have bugger all product lines, they manufacture themselves, and produce MILLIONS, nay, HUNDREDS of Millions of coins every year, and have been doing it for 40 years now.

This shipping failure is new. And completely self-inflicted. Because they clearly can't organise their way out of a paper bag.

Look at the Olympics cards, which are STILL back-ordered. They dropped an average of 150 per store, some 150,000 sets. Blind Freddy could have told you they would need at least as many Paralympics. But they only gave each store one box, for 50,000 total. And dealers still haven't had any supplies, other than a small part of their orders delivered in the first week.

These are CIRCULATING coins. They made 2.5 million of each, and 150,000 is a drop in the bucket. Failing to not only predict demand, but fulfill orders which have been paid for, even after months, is ridiculous in my book, and I doubt that they will ever supply.

And the Anniversary baggies are no better. The difference between standard issue bags and these is only the colour of the film, and the coin count in them. Otherwise they're exactly the same. If they can produce pallet loads of sacks for Armaguard to distribute, there is no earthly reason they can't produce a small number of these to keep customers happy.

Sorry, I have no sympathy for them whatsoever. And going by past track record, probably never will, because they won't learn from these stuffups. :P
