Goldseeker

I have checked numerous Woollies stores today for three Paralympic coins only.

A woolies employee just posted in the MNS Facebook group that 4 managers (and apparently some staff) have been sacked over the Olympic coins.

Why don't you make the page a public page so when members here click on the links they can actually see what the post is

For pretty much the same reason ACF isn't public. Its easy enough for people to join the group though, we don't discriminate. We even let YOU in.

Is there any evidence of the sackings?
A post on farcebook is not necessarily correct.

Every so often we make BIG mistakes that we later regret  :mocking:

Yes I'd want to see a bit of proof other than someone on FB saying something as most is BS :dodgy:

hummm
heresay IMO

I don't know why I was worried about my inability to score more than a handful of the new Olympic coins -no Woolies in town doesn't help.

My wife is in charge of the local polling booth and had to go to a training session at Mudgee today (Council elections in NSW this week).
She said she would do some shopping at Woolworths whilst there  and asked me if she should try for some $2 coins. I thought slim chance at this late date but said to ask anyway.

Well, she asked and checkout "Chickie Babe" (my politically incorrect expression this week -thanks Robbie) told her that they were informed today they may give out two of those coins per transaction and then offered her two bags. A separate purchase of a packet of biscuits garnered 22 of the coins and a few more purchases two coins each.

Plus one of the new $5 notes in change.

Wife thinks staff are now just wanting to get rid of these coins as quickly as possible. So keep asking in case some stores are still dispensing hoarded ones.

Well done Mrs Jeff!!!!!

I think the prefix on the $5 might be an abbreviation of "Absolutely Fabulous!!!"

JeffH

No argument from me.
However I have this feeling there might be a a price to pay for the coins, apart from reimbursing the outlay.
"Excuse me dear, I have a little favour to ask..." All is good (and the favour would still appear, sooner or later, anyway).
