Call me vindictive, but I would only buy from a dealer.

The $1 or so margin isn't going to make them rich, but denying Woolies the sale will be deeply satisfying after all this grief. :diablo:

I have just returned from securing my two packaged sets of five coins.   I then went to another store to get the missing sets.

Be warned, the five folders I have, have different pictures of sport on the front.

I have a swimming cover and the other is Volley Ball.  there is the women's high jump, cycling and last but not least, kayaking. In all, there are FIVE different sports represented on the five coin pack covers.  Might have to be selective if one needs a full set of packiboxis.   (I will post pictures of the covers when I have scanned them).

Oh, one set per person only from my local Woolworths.   According to the staff that I saw this morning, If I went back tomorrow, they would not sell me another set.   However I went to a second Woollies and got the sets I didn't have plus one sealed bag of 25 Black $2 coins.

See why we need to boycott Woolies? Show them that this was a bad idea, poorly implemented.

These sets are unlimited mintage, so they have no reason to ration them.

I totally agree with woolies rationing the individual coins But the 5 coin sets can be ordered from RAM in multiples.
I imagine that if you wanted a thousand of these sets you could order that many from the RAM shop if you wished and with that many in one order you would even get the shipping for free :)

Precisely.

Woolies are rationing in order to drive up sales. I am completely opposed to a company hijacking MY enjoyment of my hobby for commercial gain, so even though I'm a shareholder, I'll be retaliating by doing what I can to drive DOWN their sales.

If we don't do this, and this whole excercise is deemed a success, we can expect the same thing that happened with self-serve petrol, road tolls and now supermarket self-serve checkouts. This will become the norm, and before long we'll have to jump through these hoops for ALL our coins.

Especially with the installation of roll dispensers in refurbished branches, which means the end of new coins from the bank.

May be Woolies pay RAM as part of some sponsorship deal and help to defray the overall cost of a set? :)

SULLA

If the RAMINT was selling the 5 coin sets with their dealer network, the pack would have been $50 not $15.

I see nothing wrong with what Wooloworths is doing.

Everyone whinges about "not getting enough" and when a company tries to spread the coins, people still whinge.

Sounds like an AESOP's fable or two!

I visited about ten Woolworths stores today and have all I need.
Even rejected a bag of the blue!

What was it the early US President said,"You can fool/please some of the people some...." etc etc

SULLA

I have just called my local stores and all six have sold out of the 5 coin sets.

I am sure that Woolies will regard this exercise as an outstanding success, and they will probably not understand what a mess it has really been!

They are. And they're $15, with about $1 for the dealer in that. Some stock arrived today, with more next week.

Anyway, today's haul...

I found a lot more supportive people on the afternoon shift. Managed to swap a total of 4 bags. Got a box, with one set of 5 folders plus 5 more mixed. I better get moving tomorrow to complete the box just in case they don't get stock next week (they should, this is unlimited after all).

Plus 3x very nice paper $100's, a AA98 $100, UNC AM13 $50 and 1021g of 2¢ ($5.28 according to my calculator) for $3. :)

I have to admit that it is Fun to pick these coins up from Woolies  But the coins themselves are pretty "ratty".
I am hoping that the coins in the carded sets are better.
