Hercules

Quote from: 'Mister T' pid='110427' dateline='1501291876'Just went through six rolls of 5c pieces - nothing interesting (not even a New Zealander) but it looks like the 2016 5c pieces are starting to become common now (the plain ones anyway).

I haven't checked recently, but a lot of 2015 and plain 2016 ones are turning up in change. Unfortunately, the changeover ones still seem to be very scarce. :(

I look at some 5c pieces most weeks and have still only seen four of them.

I've just had one hell of a noodle fest. This is what I found today:

50c Coins
1985 CoA
1988 First Fleet
1993 CoA
2001 CoF - Northern Territory

$1 Coins
2001 CoF - Rotated by 180°
2009 Australian Citizenship - C
2014 MoR
2015 ANZAC

No prizes for guessing which is my favourite. :yahoo:

Mister T

Pretty good haul - how many did you look through for those finds?

Hercules

The usual - 12 rolls of each. This equates to $120 worth of 50c coins and $240 worth of $1 coins. ;)

Pedro

Fantastic results with that noodle Hercules :good:

I picked up a 1985 CoA 50¢, and a 1993 too, yesterday.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Pedro

Well done Jeff! :ok:

Hercules' find was better because his sample size was much smaller than mine.

Top work Fella's. The 2001 rotated and 1985 50c are getting pretty hard to come by now. :good:

Unicorn

Indeed Pedro ..... I'm waiting for someone to do one in minutes!

JeffH

Hard to tell from the poor, last (obverse) photo but I think a few of those might be a minute or two off the hour positions. Still, a good effort.

It depends on how you look at it. If you only look at what I noodled yesterday, then my haul was certainly better than yours. However, if you include all the coins I noodled over the last 18 months, then my strike rate probably isn't any better.

It may be of interest that the last time I noodled a 1985 50c was in June 2016, the last time I noodled a 2015 ANZAC $1 was in September 2016, and the last time I noodled a rotated 2001 CoF $1 was in May 2016. That's a very long time between drinks!

Ozcoins

It's been a long time since I found a rotated 2001 or a 1985 50c.
I did however, find a 1972 5c last night.
I was happy with that.
