This may prove useful for those wishing to know when their PCGS slabbed coin was graded. :ok:

My 8 Free submissions Voucher arrived today so I am sending my 8 $10 Gold Proofs in to be graded.
With all the counterfeit Gold coins around lately I think it is a good idea to get these certified even though they are pretty much Bullion coins :ok:

My submission to NGC that arrived there 25/7/16 is now at the Grading/quality control stage, That is only 11 working days so far.
I should have the grades soon, SOOOOOO much faster than PCGS

reckon this one is worth sending to pcgs?
it is fully brilliant in the hand - golden red tones
looks 'proof like 'to me.
it also cartwheels but not as noticeable in my photos
here it is beside my old red unc that is starting to tone a tad now
comments and opinions most welcome (especially from Walter or Eric!)

The "Orange Peel" on the Kings cheek and ear are pretty detracting RG.
Looks like this came from a rusted die, I'm not sure how PCGS would grade this one.

I wouldn't be buying the tissues just yet RG, I could be wrong here Mate.
The strike looks very strong on this particular coin and the orange peel/rust marks may be regarded the same as die polish marks and not affect the grade too much, I don't know because I have never sent a coin like this in for grading. :ok:
Personally I would send it in just to find out :)

These coins have been graded .
They took 13 working days where PCGS took 53 working days for my last submission, That's 2 weeks not 2 months :good:
Also before anyone smugly claims that NGC is a waste of time because they overgrade, Have a real good look at some of the coins that the PCGS office in Hong Kong have graded lately :ok:

ah well - it is definitely very different in the hand
the hubby suggested it might be an 'ímpaired' proof  when he first looked at it

here's a snap of the Victoria  museum proof that was transferred from the Melbourne Mint in 1978

I've always liked the PL pennies and half pennies.  That one is very nice but a little weakly struck.  It looks full red, based on that alone I'd call it worth sending.

Quote from: 'stevo1962' pid='93116' dateline='1469247805'He sent his submission in without the PCGS ID numbers for each coin so it's not PCGS's fault completely

Yes, PCGS should still get it right but why leave it to chance? Adding the PCGS numbers does take a little bit of extra work but it is the attention to detail that pays off. Hopefully not too much room for confusion with my pre-decs.

All coins were submitted with PCGS ID numbers and descriptions Steve, unfortunately PCGS just chose to ignore them

Quote from: 'trout' pid='91137' dateline='1466471616'I have bought this coin from a very reputable source and have looked up the cert# on PCGS and it isn't in the database.
This is a bit strange as the coin looks to be in a "Secure" holder.

I just had a look and this coin is there. So did they fix their technical issues?

:good: plus one for Cockatoo Coins but another minus one for PCGS.
