This current batch is costing me a fortune in 2x2's... a pair of 270° CoF upsets, UNC 1985 and dancing man (with toe crack), 2006, dancing man and CoF rim cuds, massive 1988 cud over OLL, aUNC 1999 double wreath cuds and doubling, ditto lower grade with huge centre cud, and a CoF with a cud in the O of OF.

Then the usual run of things not quite worthy of mounts.. lots of old shinies, a few new cuds, some coins out of packs...

Oh, and add a shiny-but-fingerprinted 2010 "spewing rabbit" to that lot. ;)

Mister T

Nice find. I think I've only ever found one 20 vatu myself. A bit more obvious than the Kiwi 20c anyway.

Fulvio

Just pulled a pair of 1974's out of this sack of 50¢

...

Oh, and a 1993.

I have found quite a few 20 Vatu and also 20 francs from Nouvelle Caledonie. Same size planchets as our 20¢.
If anyone wants some feel free to request via a pm.
Also, some other similar from other Pacific nations.

I particularly like the Cook islands "doodle dollar" Naughty! But it is really an important character in their mythology.

Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

A friend from work bought all his change to work today, over $600,
so I could bring it home and see if there was anything in it, that I needed.
Pulled out a heap of commemorative 20c and 50c and $1, plus a 1979 50c double bar
and a bag of 5c ($21.10) for my Daughters collection. I'll make her check the whole
lot for 1972's.
Also found the following foreigners..
1980 New Zealand 20 cents
2011 Malaysia 20 Sen
1989 Malaysia 50 Sen
2011 Philippines 1 Piso
2005 Singapore 50 Cents
2005 United Arab Emirates 1 Dirham
Steve

OFEC count = 258

2010 Malaysia 20 Sen with lightly filled reverse and possibly die scratches, and a slightly doubled obverse.

Reckon I might keep this one. :)

it's a shame about the bag marks so I'll give it EF for now :)

Unicorn

It is a nice one AJ. :good:

I think a fair few people are cleaning out their sock drawers these days which might explain some of the current finds. Generally I don't think people have much spare cash at all, which could also support the market demise mentioned by Jeff in a couple of his threads.

ausjack

Yes :i_agree: as I seem to finding better coins in the pond now than a few year ago..or there's gonna be a few pee'd off mum's and dad's when they next suss their coins collection or lack of :(
