this is my "bust" dollar type
hard to get in high grades

robbiegal

funny,  I have always called them pillar dollars

darn nice and hard to get without being ripped off with fakes
my husband has a great book on the reales - cost a bomb but worth the investment if you collect them

duggee - this is the book that my hubby has as a reference book
he also called your coin a portrait /bust dollar
the book calls them 'bustos'

duggee27

RG
great book and a great reference if i chose to get into this type but a heavy read for me with all that spanish in there

but i like 'busts' :blush2: sorry 'bustos' ( damn predictive text !!) as a coin type description

am on the search for a 'pillar' for my set tho ...

robbiegal

have fun with your search
we went to quite a few auctions chasing them and fortunately then the hubby found an overseas mentor who taught him ways to detect the fakes and also put him onto some good reliable sellers and as well, sold some of his own coins to us.
