I obtained a lot of superfine couch runners from the local bowling club. They are always trimming the edges onto the gutters.
Doesn't take much to get established and, when you get a little cover in a spot, then you can start transplanting squares.

Or, buy rolls of turf but that can be quite a few dollars if you have a big yard.

Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

I had a problem with the hot water tap on the shower not turning off.
I had NO ambition to pull the tiles off and break into the wall to replace the obviously worn  tap.
My solution was to put a ball valve at the base of the shower arm.
Works like a dream ( No more leaking shower) and I replaced the shower head with one of those humongous square buggers :good:

Our tiles were over the tap mechanism too/
I also did not want to damage the tiles, so I used a dremel with a diamond file bit to slowly carve the hole that was there larger till I could replace the washer inside.

Come get me trout and I'll have it all fixed in a jiffy :good:

and I thought this was "Home maintainance"...not bush mechanics  :kez_15:

Just a comment, but as a retired Chippie / builder. If you have trouble with a leaky tap, even after replacing the washer. Get the tap reseated. A simple in situe job. A tool screws in and refaces the surface the washer sits on. A worn surface can cause the problem.
Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.

Further to Possie Ron's comment.  I have seen "tap reseating tools" in $2 shops, so it will be much cheaper to buy and use one, than to get someone to come and do it for you - much the same as changing the washer in the first place.

I didn't have the option of reseating the tap because I couldn't take the tap apart.
If I put anymore pressure on the stillson  I would have wreaked the pipework behind the wall :dash1:
My brother in law is a plumber and I borrowed a tool and some seats from him to do the job in the first place, I thought that it would be a "Piece of Cake:.
That didn't work so I HAD to think outside the square and came up with the ball valve idea :ok:
Anyway it works and "Her Indoors" is happy so all is good

for those that are wondering what they're talking about this is what the reseaters look like and dome washer/valve are an ok quick fix and the reseating kits are good when the seat is to pitted to reseat and ya don't want to pull the wall apart..remember to screw the reseating kit in as hard as you can. And trout, ask him for a tube spanner and just tap it to break the seal, worth a shot :)

yep, I know boats :friends:

You can also pick up reseaters from garage sales..I've got heaps of things from gargare sales but haven't been for ages :(

The most important thing has been covered too  :)

water's a great thing..very destructive. And I find the rust makes the bullet go quicker as they just want out..being so humid here doesn't help and especially for coins :( and as long as she fires a little rust don't hurt :)
