How many of you mob do your own plumbing, electrical and building repairs?
I do all of mine because I live a fair bit out of town and getting a tradesman to do the job is expensive and hard to organise, Besides I'm a tightwad and just love to save a few quid on these jobs so I can spend the savings on coins.:ok:

My latest project was to replace the Deceased electric hot water system with an instantainious Gas jobbie.

It took me 6 hrs and cost me $300. :yahoo:
I now have hot water and that awful nagging noise has dropped in volume dramatically (the Mussus) :dance2:

Ditto :imwithstupid: with the home reno's, I'm not just a pretty face :mocking: I still try and do the odd handyman jobs when I can and they're normally the really really easy ones that others don't like to do or charge like wounded bulls like changing a tap washer..my mum loves havin me back home as I save her a fortune but still get blokes in for the big jobs or I end up laid up for too long but still try and keep active anyway I can.

Gee your lucky your missus isn't here to read this :kez_11:

And I thought your ex pom not kiwi, just noticed ya "mussus" :laugh2: I just gotta do it sorry..so can you say fish and chips and six for me..no not fush and chups or sex..I wanna be good :icon_twisted:

I do my own electrical but I am a licensed electrician.
I usually do my own plumbing because it takes so long to get a plumber to come.
I do my own building repairs and minor extensions etc. because builders and/or carpenters are nearly impossible to get to come to small jobs, charge like wounded bulls and I am "economy minded" (aka stingy).

The closest i get to doing any repairs is kicking something a few times to see if that will fix it. It usually doesnt.

I did a complete interior renovation 2 years ago and did all labour myself except plumbing and tiling .The missus and I completely gutted the house ,repainted ,replaced lights ,fans ,switches and power points myself ,built the kitchen, new everthing and saved about $30k + in the process .The tiles in the bathroom took a week to chip off, with tile splinters flying everywhere .Every tile chipping session was a   bloodbath  .I have a photo somewhere of me covered in blood, will have to find it

hmm, not that good with handy jobs, I have made my own bird bath that's is pottery work and it is glazed a nice green colour, its in the front roundabout.
and I gave painting a try and painted inside the old'e caravan.
I mainly do gardening and with summer the garden looks shocking, pretty hard with no rain or water, just barely keeping things alive with washing water, lost so many plants this year.
tho living on a farm I do know how to maintain tractors and farm stuff, not that useful around the house tho :P
