The scammers are out in force. The spam folder in one email account has more than 300 received in the last week. Quick look shows bitcoin scams biggest number followed by asking for details so the deposit to my account can be confirmed. Usual gambling and diet offers and a fair number of virus remedies and such snake oil.
Did find one genuine email before I bid them Adieu.

I am glad I am not the only one receiving all these scamming emails.

A lot of them seem to be coming from an address in the USA and I have been told that the person uses a computer generated email address from which he sends from.

So when one goes to block that address he pops up with a new address etc.

I wish we could block him permanently..

Here is an interactive map showing Covid-19 cases in NSW by postcode. Looks like a bit of a rush job as place names that pop aren't often what you expect.
But, if you are curious about cases near where you are the information is there -Stated to be as of 29 March; don't know if it gets automatically updated.

I see eBay has jumped on the dunny roll scammers as promised.
Under "toilet roll " search the number of sellers has dropped from 9353 yesterday to 1768 today.
Average price has dropped to around $1 per roll.
No more "corona free" rolls for $50!

Now, they need to cut out any reseller with less than 99% rating.
That would get rid of the sellers of rubbish and leave it to the decent sellers.
Fred.

4426 results for me just now.
Still a few offering at $8+ per roll but "Free postage".
Large number with Donald Trump face on the paper!

Hi Jeff, ,guess numbers depends on the search criteria.
I used the search from the rolls I bought:
Home and garden/cleaning and household/general household supplies/toilet rolls.
That narrows down the results to toilet rolls only and obviously misses stuff.
The number on my search criteria  now at 1655, pretty steady.
A substantial drop.
I did not analyse it any further, too busy working on coins!
Cheers, Fred.

And today thursday on that criteria 1445 sellers, so its going down.
And " " '    friday "    "   "    "    "   " 1046  "    "   "" "" "   " "" "  "   !
And on Saturday morning"""""""""""""685"   "    "    "   "  '   ' "" "" " "!!!!!

Am I the only one loving this virus because of a lack of planes?
I happily look into the sky and see none. I've only seen one plane all week.
Plus it is doing great things for emissions.
I'd advocate we become like Japan in the early 1800's before Perry showed up.
Make everything you need, no one leaves, no one arrives.

Um no. the lack of planes included my plane (cancelled) so I need the planes to fly to get home. Plus my son is about completed on his CPL (commercial pilots licence) that probably cost $100,000 plus and I was hoping to get cheap fights down the track. No planes means back to shops and I think the infected cruise ships stuck off Sydney Andy 100 other ports shows how risky ships are.
I don't think copying Japan of old would be that much fun as the poverty and starvation was rampant to such an extent that things like cannibalism was still common and legal until well into the 20th century.

Here is a more recent cases by postcode search. As of sometime today and promises to be updated daily.

Thanks for the link Jeff :good:

JeffH

Thank my wife. She is the one who found it.

Now we want one more important piece of information;
•number of cases reported is readily available,
•number of deaths is updated as soon as they are reported.
•the number of recoveries is not reported.
Correlate those figures and we can make our own judgement on "flattening the curve".

And, presumably, for those now recovered the distancing/isolation/quarantine rules are irrelevant?

Here is the link to the official NSW data. It has a search function.
https://data.nsw.gov.au/data/dataset/covid-19-cases-by-location/resource/21304414-1ff1-4243-a5d2-f52778048b29

I don't know if such data is available for other states but would assume they have similar records.
