With the advent of the new note weighing scales you may be pretty safe from teller flicks, especially for new notes. (Nothing to lose really).

I'm going to try some of the other Westpac branches tomorrow, to see if they've get any in the machines. If not, then I'll probably try your suggestion, because I can always get rid of them later if I find better ones. :)

:good: ..... that's the one Herc ..... keep positive .....

We have managed to get CH prefixes with runs of 20.
Also have managed to score some EA"s. Still trying for the AA's

Isn't EJ the last prefix?

EJ is the last prefix for the $5 notes.

Quote from: 'Hercules' pid='111922' dateline='1506311848'Westpac seems to be dragging their feet this year. Last year, they had them in the machines on the very first day, but this year, they're still churning out old ones almost a week later. I'm tempted to just go in and swap some, but I won't do that any more due to the risk of "teller flicks". :(

I got three from a Westpac today (had to ask at the counter - probably could have asked for more but I thought three was enough) - they now have some cash dispenser behind the front desk that pops out however many notes you request so unless the teller is careless you should get some nice flat notes out. If all else fails just ask.
But yeah, Westpac have been slow - the cash dispensers are all still old tens (unlike the fives which seemed to come out on day one in great numbers - is the $10 the least circulating denomination?). The teller was patient though and had to extract 15 notes before getting enough new ones.

Nup. They're using a 9x5 grid layout for the $10s rather than a 9x6 one, so EA is the last prefix. :ok:

Crumbs! The cash dispensers have a limit of 30 notes per transaction, so I was planning to get 30, just like I did with the new $5 note. However, the poor teller would be there for hours if I did that, so I might just have to think of another plan. :laugh2:

It alright. They aren't going to be doing anything else

The new $10 notes are finally starting to come through the Westpac cash dispensers in Brisbane. I just drained the one in Fortitude Valley, but I've heard that they're appearing all over town now. I got 20 consecutive serial numbers and one non-consecutive serial number, all with the CJ prefix, which I'm very happy with at the moment. :yahoo:

Well done Herc ......

..... I'm guessing that your's is not the only happy ending in Fortitude Valley. :mocking:

I've managed to exchange the new notes but only got them in the AC prefixes. They're all consecutive serials, but are they worth anything? Or are they just worth face value?

Hercules

If they're uncirculated (or almost uncirculated), then they're definitely worth more than face value, but not as much as a first or last prefix would. My advice would be to keep a few and then put the rest back into the pond, where the word "few" should be interpreted very loosely. :ok:
