LOL! Ta, mate.

In other news, I posted my usual offer on Reddit to sell some of the notes for Dogecoin, and one of the talented but bored shibes immediately put together this little gem:

This is out tomorrow right? Looks like I will be late for work. :P

Where is it released?

When the $5 note came out I went to the commonwealth bank near work a number of times, but they hadn't received any for weeks after release day
There\'s no such thing as too much Borobi!

In my case it was months. Only one bank branch in a small town; they had plenty of $5 notes and weren't allowed to order new ones.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

When the $5 note was released last year it was the Westpac banks that seemed to have them.

That's where I got mine from last year, and that's where I'll be going tomorrow. They had them on the very first day last year, so I'm not going to mess with a formula that works. ;)

Yeah that's what I found.

I work a few blocks from RBA at Martin Place in Sydney. They definitely have them. Last year there was a small but enthusiastic queue of collectors waiting for the new $5 at 9:30.

Is anyone going to RBA tomorrow to pick some up.

If so could you get me 5 as well.

Also have a member of one of my coin clubs who would like 50 but would have to get money to you ASAP.

thanks

Why on earth do you want to get them from the RBA? There's a Westpac on the very same street where you have your monthly meetings. I'm sure they could spare you a few. :dontknow:

humpybong

True but sometimes they will not give out new UNC notes without teller flicks.

You can get a true UNC note if you buy a bundle.

What's a teller flick and what does it look like? I've got lots of new $5 notes that I withdrew from an ATM last year that I consider to be uncirculated, but I have no idea whether they have any teller flicks, because I don't know how to identify one. Do teller flicks decrease their sale value? Does Maccas consider an uncirculated note with a teller flick to be "uncirculated" or "almost uncirculated"?

I got a couple of bundles from RBA this morning. No first prefixes unfortunately - just luck of the draw.

I was there 8:40 am and there were 20 people in front of me. By 9:30 there were may be 100 people in the queue.

Bring some ID with you if you want to get over $1k, unless you have already provided ID with RBA previously (like for last year's $5 note release). They can do a maximum of $1k in EFTPOS.

Hercules - by itself, a teller flick should drop a note from UNC to aUNC and affect the value accordingly.

Teller flicks are generally light creases that can occur in various places on a note when a teller is counting out notes in a pile - where the crease occurs can vary  depending on whether they count the pile side on or end on for instance.

When looking at a note hold it slightly angled in the palm of you hand (with cotton gloves) towards a good source of the light (I find natural sunlight the best) and that often shows up small flaws that may exist that are not necessarily evident when looking at the note on a flat surface.

I just ordered another batch of $5 notes from Australia Post because I read in Maccas that the EA15 prefix was worth $250 in uncirculated condition, but when they arrived this morning, all I got was a mixture of CMs and DAs. They didn't even have the courtesy to give me an AA16 or EJ16, so I was bitterly disappointed. The only consolation is that I've just saved another batch of 2015 $5 notes from the scrapheap. :dash1:
