A 2015 $1 ANZAC P counterstamp is listed in the 2015/16 annual report with a mintage of 2746, I can not find this coin anywhere. Does anyone know of its existence?

I am not absolutely certain But didn't that coin have the "AL" counterstamp that year for Albany WA and No "P" counterstamp?

The Albany coins used "AL" for the counterstamp, because "A" was already taken by Adelaide. Assuming that a "P" counterstamp was issued, it was probably released during the Royal Perth Show, because that seems to be the pattern with the other mintmarks and counterstamps. Does anyone know whether the mint was at the Royal Perth Show in 2015? Are there any other reasons the mint would have gone to Perth? :dontknow:

Here's a picture of the Albany coin:

Do you think that this is what the mint's talking about?

By the way, the Albany coins were dated 2014, whereas the ones in the annual report were dated 2015, so it's back to the drawing board.

My best guess is that they did come from the Royal Perth Show, and that they looked like the ones CoinSydney linked to. After all, they're listed next to ones with "B" and "M" counterstamps, which clearly came from the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) and the Royal Melbourne Show, respectively.

Going by posts by the mint on there website at the time and my sketchy memory...they were going to Perth but it was around the same time as the Melbourne show. I think they only have one portable press so they could not be both Perth and Melbourne at the same time.

I am not sure if the mobile press went to the Perth show, I am thinking that it didn't and was at Albany only that year :ok:

The Albany coin is listed in the 2014/15 annual report, not the 2015/16 one.

Another possibility is that the "P" counterstamp coins came from the ANDA show. Did anyone go to the 2015 Perth one and remember seeing them?

Is the "P" counterstamp coin listed on either the 2014/15 or the 2015/16 report?

The 2015 P's I have are MoR. That's what we were selling at the ANDA show. Never seen or heard of ANZACs.

Don't know if this is going to help or just make this thread more complicated, but this is what I know about the  2015 "Australia Map" counterstamp.

As part of the 50th anniversary of decimal currency celebrations, the RAM visited a number of regional centres spanning southern New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. The RAM's popup tent featured a number of special issues for sale as well as the mobile press. Collectors were able to personally counterstamp the special mark for The Changeover Tour - the outline of Australia - onto the 2015 $1 Circulating 100 Years of Anzac Coin. Regions included in The Changeover Tour included Albury, Bendigo, Ballarat, Melbourne, Launceston and Hobart.  Other coins on offer included the 2015 $2 Circulating Lest We Forget Coloured Coin; the 2015 $2 Circulating Remembrance Day Coloured Coin and the 2015 50c Circulating 50th Anniversary of Decimal Currency Coin. The latter were available at face value in $10 mint bags.

Don't have any details on the other coins mentioned.  I'm guessing that it might be the result of some confusion back at RAM HQ.   It should be remembered that a lot of people working at the mint are not hard-core collectors, just like a dental receptionist isn't likely to be let loose with a pair of pliers.  No offence intended, but there are so many recent issues with similar sounding names it's hardly surprising that there can be errors. It's hard enough these days for even avid collectors to work out the differences.  This sort of problem is across the board.  Updating the PNC section for my next book was a nightmare with multiple overprints available for different days at the same fairs to different coloured envelopes being used for fair issues as opposed to the general issues.  Many Perth Mint coins are now available as high relief; gilt, coloured, plain, coin fair and special one-off mintmarks. The list is almost endless.  Seems like a long time ago when there was just one commemorative issue during the entire pre-decimal QEII reign.  Say what you like about the amount of new issues coming onto the market but you have to give credit to both mints for the unfailing superb quaility of these issues and the creativity of the artists and designers.  I think we should start being serious about finding a Tasmanian Tiger, Bunyip or the Blue Mountains black panther.   I just cannot imagine just how many poses or positions can be left to illustrate the usual suspects such as the Kooka, Koala or Kangaroo.  We must be getting to the point that the only thing left is a series on 'road kill."

As usual, ACF is ahead of the game and there has been a roadkill series on the go here for some time
