I got four red coins today, but it was like pulling teeth, had to go thru check out twice, really?

brismike

I managed to pick up two lots of 4 reds at 2 different Woolies stores today. If you are nice about how you ask for them there dosen't seem to be a problem getting them. Had to buy a bottle of coke and a pack of Iced Vo-Vos to get them though.

I didn't buy anything at all. All I did was top up my Opal card. :D

So far I have just exchanged a $20 note for 10 coins at the service desk each week.
I go there late just before closing so they are not busy. Had no dramas so far. :)
Today's lot were by far the worst bag marked. I had trouble finding one that was half decent.

Well this week just gone (week 3 red coins) has been not as good as the first two weeks. They are still giving out blue and black ones and the red ones seem to be harder to get.

See how we go with yellow next week.

As each week goes by more and more people become aware of them and it gets harder and harder. Especially now the Olympics has officially started. The ANZAC coins with News Ltd was the same, I rocked up to any newsagent at lunch time and they still have them. By the middle of week two you really have to be there before 9 am to have any chance.

Some stores only have blue.

Anyway, I will probably be looking to swap for bags of blacks, since I'm short 3 bags, so keep that in mind.

Just spoke to a store about a pile of cash I think I left on the counter, and during the conversation the girl told me their boss has directed them to get rid of all the coins cos of the new ones next week. She's been handing out reds by the bag.

Explains the blues still around too. I think a lot of stores went overboard with the hoarding, and ended up with unused coins.

Me? Wasn't planning to. I don't sell, although I have been known to make exceptions for friends in need from time to time.

Oh, and the woolies where I lost the cash is going to check their surveillance footage and see what happened. Won't get me my money back, but at least it will stop me stressing about not remembering. :dodgy:

I think it was in the range of $70-100. No biggie, but I'm really upset about not being able to remember any of it. Got a big shock when I went to pay for the next lot and the wallet was empty.
