Another re-noodle discovery (could be a few of these!).

A "turtle" on a 2014 AIATSIS 50c reverse.

Unicorn

Thanks Pedro! I haven't checked any of mine as yet, but none back to the pond either, so your timing is great!!!!

Pedro

The aim of the exercise was just consolidating the storage of these coins so the errors list below may well have holes in it. A bit better than 1 in 3 coins had an error on it (well it was 2014 after all!)

Noted:

- cud on the tip of the Queen's nose
- cud on Queen's lips
- cud on Queen's chin
- Queen's cheek - have a few where there are cud lines down the Queen's cheek from nostril to mouth or parts thereof ("tear tracks")
- doubling on the Queen's face
- strange shapes near the Queen's mouth, cheek and eyes. Look like raised irregular "frosting" shapes.
- cud on the symbol on the reverse (too many dots on the reverse for my liking so little time spent checking for errors)

I vaguely remember having seen one with a cud on top of the symbol on the reverse in the past but maybe that was just my imagination (oh well, next time  ).

Great summary Pedro! When I get to mine I'll let you know if I find any others.

Mister T

Not my usual place to find coins but digging in the garden today I found a 1946 halfpenny. I'd dug that section more times than I can remember but somehow it was close to the surface.

this coin was noodled whilst going through my brothers  tool box today ,
it is a 1922 penny in bad shape , would acetone be a chance of cleaning it do you think ?
I have just put it into a bottle with acetone , how long should I leave it in there ? thanks for answers .
kel .

I don't give you much chance on that one Kel. You could try xylene but still will probably not do much.
If it hasn't improved in 24 hours then more time probably won't help. When you pull it out give it a gentle touch up with a cotton tip, rinse in hot water and pat dry between two paper towels.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

thanks Jeff ,  looking  at it , it seams to have a dot between the 19 . 22 would that be possible ?
I will try and clean and study around that area .   kel .

Today's cud (re-)discovery - an unusually shaped cud on the back of the big kangaroo on a 1994 $1.
