Well done Jeff!!! :good:

Ozcoins

Wow Jeff.
Normally they are very few of them turning up!

Pedro

Nicely done Jeff!

Makes Hercules statistics look sick. Normally I would not expect to find one of those more often than every 2 or three months.
Beginner's luck?
Just scored another $400 from same source so, fingers crossed (but that does slow down the noodling)!

Congratulations, Jeff! :wavemulticolor:

At least that explains where all the 1985 50c coins went.

Does anyone else have any coins they'd like to place back into circulation for me to noodle? :drooling:

JeffH

Sorry mate. they are staying here.

Only one 1985 50¢ in the last lot.
Strange, not one 1993 in all those coins. Usually would find several in that quantity and always more of them than 1985.

Ozcoins

The coins you were searching were all saved earlier than 1993?
It's funny how you say "only one" ☺

JeffH

No, mix of years from 1969 to 2016. Definitely not a random assortment though -large number of only a few commemoratives and large numbers of a few particular years- but no pattern that I could discern.

Did you get any incuse flags? I'd easily chose one of those over 3 1985s.

JeffH

No incused. Still four 1985 is not bad and did get some high grade early years.
The only reason I can think for excess of 1985 in a big batch of cashed in coins is that is a significant year for that person -birth year maybe?

Chances are they just liked the "new" effigy. Another possibility is that someone told them they were scarce, so they collected a whole heap of them in the hope of making a profit.
