This literally just arrived while I was reading your post.

The practice and the 'rule' relating to the release of circulating coins is that we will only supply  them through the banks in the form that is not otherwise described as numismatic. i.e. rolled and for which a premium  above its face value is charged.

We cannot provide coins direct  to the market at face value. Westpac tells us that they do control the actions of the carriers in relation to their branches but not the Corps. E.g Coles,  Woolies etc who are the 'customers' of the carriers.

As to the future release of coloured circulating coins - we will have a solution for the numismatist.

I was told by one of the girls at Armaguard that one of her co-workers got one from a supermarket and showed it to her. This was maybe a week or two after release.

If the various reports are correct, there were 150 sacks in Vic. So far.

What?

Where and what are these "various reports" you refer to Fulvio?

• 750 sacks skipped from the Mint.

• A Pallet containing about a ton, so 150 sacks.

• One pallet coming to Victoria (of 13, allegedly, which is wrong).

• At least some loose coin being reported.

Fulvio you do waffle on!

Please provide evidence of your claims!

Where and what are these "various reports" you refer to Fulvio?

Sounds like my mate's third cousins brother's sister's fourth cousin who was married to an ex mp who was related to the queen said............

If you make statement/claims  - please back them up with evidence!

The only bit that requires evidence is whether or not that pallet actually came to Vic, and if so, where it went. Haven't found anyone to confirm yet though.

Coiny Chris

Hello,

From what I have heard, they have hit the streets in Canberra. Spoke to another collector who got 2 rolls at face value, and another who also has one teed up. Time to check your Banks and change.
A rolling Coin gathers no change. C Chris

goodie
I dropped into the bank last week and they said - nope - not here yet but they will come .... 'soon' ... enough

I spoke with RAMINT CEO a couple weeks ago and the 16th June 2015 was stated as being when the last of coins would be delivered to banks.
If you haven't got them by now, it's back to eBay if you want some!

Ozcoins

I have  been looking a bit and not found any yet.
I am pretty sure that distribution and actually getting put into circulation can take a fair while,  so I will not be giving up yet.

Update to my earlier post (#203).
I cannot recall if the CEO said "delivered to Banks or delivered to Security Companies".

Presumably they mean the Malvern Cricket Ground at http://w3w.co/spared.deflection.upset for the coin. The march starts at http://w3w.co/stop.ears.scuba

Was there a currency determination?

Never mind, found it:

A design consisting of:
(a)      a central circle containing the inscription 'LEST WE FORGET' and a representation of a dot; and
(b)      surrounding the central circle, the following:
              (i)     a series of red coloured stripes arranged in a repetitive circular pattern;
              (ii)     2 concentric circles;
              (iii)     5 stylised representations of crosses;
              (iv)     between the crosses, a representation of poppy flowers; and
(c)       'TWO DOLLARS'.

That coin shown was simply a guess as to what it may have been.
If you re-read the earlier posts it will be clear!

LEST WE FORGET!
Is the time honoured phrase!

Less we forget is wrong!
