Thanks RG...
Collecting coins is not about having the best, but loving what you have ...

That is a rather nicely toned 6d, I take it that this is your recent acquisition via Numisbid .
Nicely Done Mate :good:

All I know about toning is that it involves sulphides and the conditions that the coin has been stored in, No doubt one of our Members that is less scientifically retarded that I am will be able to come up with a plausible explanation regarding this.
What I do know with absolute certainty though is that I personally really enjoy looking at beautifully toned coins :)

Toning like this is why I have become involved with collecting Maundy coins.
Many of these Maundy coins are exquisitely toned and beautifully preserved  :good:

Nice pickup :good:

I had the same thought. To me it looks a nice 64 (65?). I mean, what is wrong with it that it gets such a grade that only baggy coins deserve.

Maybe PCGS has some new graders that lack experience and are erring too far to  the side of caution.
I had a couple of Florins graded a Month ago that are super conservatively graded.

Nice Florin, I bet it looks a lot nicer "In Hand" than it does in that old PCGS image :good:
