Forget Friday! It's time to bring out the silverware.
I would like to see your world silver coins (including Aus).
Preferably circulating coins, not the NCLT granny bait.

I'll start with these few from home.
Sorry, I only have pics on file for one side.
(You all know what the other side looks like anyway)

Now some foreign coins.

Finish off with a couple more Aus coins.

So here I have 41,44 and 45 dimes, 1953 5 pasos and a 1932 florin but don't know it's silver sorry

I love those 1953 Mexican pesos AJ, great coin. Your 1932 florin is 50% silver.

The Mexican 5 Pesos, is indeed silver, 0.720

Yep. Mexican coins usually make it easy to work out if a coin is silver because somewhere on them is a "Ley" number. The other side of AJ's coin should say "Ley 0.720" on the middle right.

I know this is a specimen. I am just not sure if it's the silver or copper nickel one. Anyone know how to tell the difference?

The toning looks like it is Silver.
A simple magnet test will tell, ALL my non silver Canadian Dollars are magnetic. :ok:

According to Krause catalogue.
The 1972 silver coin is 36mm and has a smaller bust.
The 1972 nickel coin is 32mm and has a larger bust.
Looking at the pics, yours is the smaller bust, so should be silver.

I didn't know that. Well it's not magnetic. And according to the NGC world coin guide the silver version is 36mm (vs 32mm for the CuNi) and weighs 23.3g vs 15.6g. Which mine is. Looks like I've got a silver one

I haven't seen toning like that on a Nickel dollar yet.
The NON Silver dollars were ALL Nickel and thus are highly magnetic :ok:
