This should go gF, it looks like it still has some remaining lustre on the reverse.

Yeah that angle shows the light on the fields better. Ill stick to 64, the coin has great eye appeal, And to me id rather have a great looking coin rather than a higher graded coin without the eye appeal. Make sure to let us know when you get the results. I think you have done well.
May your coin searches be fun and your gradings true

How do you guys package up your coins to send to PCGS ?

I have tried all sorts of ways involving boxes, tissue paper, saflips and bubble wrap.
On my latest submissions I put the coins into saflips, labelled them and put the saflip into a PP album page.
I then folded the pages and sticky taped them together and put the whole shebang in a padded envelope.
This way all the coins are in sequence eg line 1,2,3 etc and will make it easier at the other end to sort out the coins for grading.
There is also NO way that the coins can move about during transit this way :good:
A bit more user friendly than having the coins mixed up in a box full of padding :)

Ah so that's how I send them, I pack them pretty well by the sounds :)

Not a common occurence for an NGC coin to be upgraded from MS63 to MS64.On this occasion I cracked the coin out before sending it over.I wonder how PCGS would have graded it if I had sent it over in the NGC slab

nice
they say that medical specialists are influenced by the referring doctors' pt history information when they make a diagnosis on radiology xrays, scans etc
it has been proven to be of significant risk (hence a second opinion is always a safe bet)

so i'd see no reason why a pcgs assessor would not be influenced by a couple of factors
 1. that it is ngc a competitor
2. that pcgs would perhaps always have a point to prove that their grading is 'stricter'
humans can never be 100% objective - It is not possible

anyways, darn nice halfpenny there Steveo

oh my florin

Nice half penny. Does it have the provenance on the pcgs holder?

It doesn't have the provenance on the new holder OMF but I was more
interested in a possible upgrade so had to choose between upgrade
or provenance as I doubt it would have made 64 if sent over in the NGC
slab

oh my florin

That's a shame maybe I have spent to long in ancients with the provenances lol :P Regardless it is a good trade off in terms of pre decimals :D

I don't think provenance is an issue if a coin is in a PCGS slab because the coin is "authenticated" as well as graded :ok:

Yeah I have spent to long in ancients there provenances are preferred and if it has a particular provenance e.g. displayed in a reference book or museum then it will attract a massive premium.

True people sometimes try to collect a particular collection but pcgs etc do slab the odd private collection and but those collections may not be of any numismatic significance.

serial

finally got my 1910 florin!
how do you think it will do?

I am a bit worried that this scuff on his beard with drop it to au

trout

The actual coin may look a lot better "in hand", but from them images  I would call this one at AU55-58.
It looks like wear on the obverse to me, Still a great looking coin with lots of residual lustre
