Recent results from NGC to PCGS crossover .I cracked these out and sent them over raw rather than sending them over in the NGC slabs

1913 halfpenny NGC  MS63BN  #3419788-018  -  PCGS MS64BN #32030165
1910 threepence NGC MS65  #3419788-005  -  PCGS MS64 #32030168

 Not a bad result suppose

Just been looking at graded coins to expand the knowledge and think there are a few consistency issues. This coin has a really weak strike and looks like it has minor wear. Going off the grading chart the strike may not be full but to be ms60 or above the coin may not have wear. Looks worse than other similar coins of that grade. Anyone agree?

This one seems similar, Can a weak strike leave an absence of that much detail? looks like wear on the head as cant really see details of the crown/leaves area.

I just trying to learn a bit more and opinions and thoughts on coin 1 and 2 would be very helpful, Thanks
May your coin searches be fun and your gradings true

Sorry but I'm like you OCC and still learning but I wonder if that second link is rotated/up set or just turned the slab around :scratch_one-s_head:

re the 1962 & 63
the 62 is just worn out /filling dies and is a fairly common occurrence in the 62 issue
the 63 has dreaded 'Verdigris' spots and makes it a 5c coin (to me)
I can't for the life of my understand why anyone would send over coins like them
they are such common years and can be found easily in better overall condition

PCGS look at surface wear post mintage  I think that the strike is considered in the numbers but even if it is ugly unc - to them it is unc
and they are very kind and will slabb even the plainest of coins, which is nice

I picked this up in Perth, what you mob think it will grade at PCGS ?
