I got an email notification the other day from PCGS letting me know that they are going "digital" with their membership subscription renewals.
So instead of getting a big envelope with a few submission forms, advertising paraphernalia and the free subscriptions voucher, these will be sent via email now starting today.
They still have to send me my Polo shirt via snail mail though :)
I usually save up the Gold coins that I want to have graded using the free submissions as you can go up to $3,000 in value with a regular submission  :good:

I just found this one on the shared submissions page, Looks like heaps of "Mechanical" errors in this submission.

So, will my coins eventually appear on this shared submissions page and that will be my first opportunity to see the results? I presume the dealer will have to notify me which one it is otherwise I'll never find it.

Now about the TrueView images, this coin was in a submission dated 2016/05/13 but there is no image:

EDIT: I just remembered there may be a delay before the True View images appear on the website.

I was talking to Geoff, he told me that submission was concurrent with mine which does not bode well. He said, "... (with 18 errors in it) mules graded as standard $1's, missing SD's as normals, incused as standard. Needless to say I'm a touch annoyed with them. Called to have them fixed but got told to take photos once they are back and they will let me know what to do. Likely another 2 month turnaround no doubt."

The way that submission was put together makes me think it was his customers coins and he was the acting Agent.
This sort of stuff up by PCGS is the Last thing ANY dealer needs and It will only make him look bad in the eyes of his customers, How on earth does PCGS repair that sort of Damage??
It looks to me that PCGS is getting "Snowed Under" and is starting to rush things and make mistakes lately .

He sent his submission in without the PCGS ID numbers for each coin so it's not PCGS's fault completely

Yes, PCGS should still get it right but why leave it to chance? Adding the PCGS numbers does take a little bit of extra work but it is the attention to detail that pays off. Hopefully not too much room for confusion with my pre-decs.

If it has gotten to the point where we have to tell the graders exactly what a coin is then we are wasting our money.
I rarely add the coin number to a submission and in the past I haven't had a problem.
When I send Specimen Captain Cooks I DO add the coin number also I add to the description as well, even after doing that on the last submission they still got it wrong.
If PCGS fail to get the attribution correct for a coin then what guarantee do we have that they have got the Grade correct as well ???

It is starting to look like the "Apprentice's" are doing the grading now at PCGS and we are the ones paying for their education :dash1:

That is one of Mine.
I think it is a three stepper but it has been that long I have forgotten which coin I sent now
Normally the images are available within 24-48 hrs But it looks like there is a Bottleneck in the imaging department as well as the grading department at the moment :dash1:

This is another Canberra Florin that was graded AU58 from the submission prior to this one.

After 4 days my NGC submission has moved up to "Scheduled for Grading".
The turnaround for World Modern at NGC is apparently 15 working days,
This is 32 days faster than the PCGS estimate at the moment, So lets see how NGC preforms.

Wrong thread? If the turnaround is 32 days faster then NGC is already outperforming PCGS. How many coins did you send?

I only sent 7 coins in this submission to "Test the Waters" so to speak as I haven't had a coin graded by NGC since 2013.
I sent the coins out of an "in come the dollars/cents" set and a specimen Captain Cook coin, lets see how they go with these and if they can live up to their turnaround time estimates.

I am tempted to send a Wedding Set to them to be graded to see if they will attribute these differently to the circulation strikes for the same year.
I have had NO luck in 3 years with PCGS getting these attributed for what they are so maybe it may be worth giving NGC a Crack at them.

I've seen another image like that, it looks like a cheapskate version of TrueView. Probably a cost-cutting measure since it standardises all coins to the same size as the holder.
