MS63-64 , That large scratch on the emu will hurt the grade on this one.
Otherwise MS66

Dont know much about grading decimals but my guess is at least 64 on the 73 50 cent.

Photo of the 23 threepence is not good enough to grade from.
Maybe 62 on a good day, probably 58.

What happened to that rather nice 1973 50 cents ?:(

It had a really nice obverse and like trout said, there was a scratch on the bird.

I have bought this coin from a very reputable source and have looked up the cert# on PCGS and it isn't in the database.
This is a bit strange as the coin looks to be in a "Secure" holder.

That can happen .... I have had similar experience. If you back to your dealer, he can fix it in few days...

I had the same thing happen (and I think it might have been the same dealer). At first I tried to get PCGS to fix it but they said the coin had to go back as a "mechanical error re-submission". Instead, I took it back to the dealer and he gave me a refund. I'm not sure what happened with the coin after that.

I am pretty sure that they will fix up the "Mechanical error" Stuff ups free of charge, I am not sure about the postage though and just sending 1 coin will cost about $20 to get there and $69.47 USD to get it back.
I you have to pay the postage costs it becomes quite an expensive "FREE" fix for a stuff up PCGS made in the first place :dodgy:

Has an all too familiar ring to it.

Try emailing them, maybe they can fix it without the coin in hand.

Not sure you missed my post above Trout. As I said best option is to ask the dealer. Up to you what you do.

Sorry Mate, I did miss that
As I got this at a very good price I don't think it would be fair to burden the dealer I bought this from with the extra expense of fixing this up for Me.
I have emailed PCGS asking for a solution to this, Maybe they simply forgot to add the cert# to the database when the coin was graded and they MAY be able to fix this without me having to send the coin back.
If this fails I think that I will simply crack the coin out and send it back for grading with one of my future submissions as this will probably be the most cost efficient way of doing  this :ok:

Cool mate.. no worries... it is actually no burden for the dealer and easier for them to fix than you ate trying to get it fixed with PCGS. I have tried that and failed miserably .... PCGS will ask you to send the coin etc.. but if you ask the dealer, it wil be 3 days ... I have done this with Walter and Chris... they had no issue getting it fixed...

I will see what PCGS has to say and if that isn't helpful I will send  Chris an email :ok:
