I probably won't submit any time soon, It would be great to know if the colour is determined by the graders or using some other electronic methods.
I managed to pick up an MS64RB already graded however it is no where near as bright as the MS63RB.
For comparison, this was the MS64RD sold a few months back on Pacific Rim Auctions.

RB covers "between 5% and 95% original red color" so you can get a lot of variety in coins graded RB.

I wish they would use some sort of reliable method in determining the amount of red/orange.
The 5% to 95% thing is rubbish.
Here are a couple of BN coins:
The 1920 is virtually full orange on the reverse.

nealeffendi

To my eye they look RB not BN.
I think part of the problem is that the yanks have copper pennies and we had bronze pennies, so ours start out not as red as their coins and their eyes think our coins have lost intensity of colour (tarnish) when they are orange and not red.

To me the note has been cut/clipped at that corner.

May I suggest deliberately?

With the curved tip part of the defect looking so neat, I don't think it's been cut, as the 'cut' if that's what it is, would be darn near impossible to be so evenly shaped if done by hand.

So, if it's a clip, what piece of equipment would make a 'clip' of that shape?  :dontknow: Anyone got any ideas?

Could the corner have been folded when it was cut/clipped? Any sign of creasing there Kel?
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Nevol

If the corner had been creased prior to the clip/cut, there would most likely be evidence of the fold, plus the defect would also have a bit right at the tip that would make a V, not a perfectly curved tip if you know what I mean.

Hmmm, with the close-up the tip of the defect now appears to be sort of straight, so I'm gunna go quiet now, still none the wiser how it might have been done. :dontknow:

Perhaps a scalpel? Woodworkers and modellers have plenty of those.
