I forgot to mention that the 50c coin is NOT a double bar as per the images supplied by RAM on the shop site.
So it looks like the 50.50 proof "C" mintmark 50c is still the only double bar IRB obverse :ok:

Maybe I have been a bit hasty giving the Mint and proof sets the "Thumbs Up".
This is the Dollar coin from the Mint set.
It looks like it has been struck with a rusty die looking at the granulated look of the obverse.
The proof also has "issues" with blurred frosting on the reverse.

Surely they would not use defective or sub standard die?

The granulation's are over the entire design and not just in the fields.
If just the fields were affected I would  put this down to being a result of using badly prepared planchets But because the entire coin is covered including the Queens face/neck it really does look like a rusty die was used.
All the little "Bumps" on the coin are raised so that indicates that the die is "Pitted" and that condition us usually caused by rust eating away the surface of the die.

If anyone else has this set can they have a good look at them to see if they are just as bad as mine please :ok:
I got my 2016 sets early last year as well and they were crap, Maybe it's not such a good idea to get these too early.
The changeover coins in the "baggies" are way better than the coins in the 2016 mint sets I got .

Here are the rest of the coins in my 2017 Mint set.
All the obverses have a rather heavily granulated  look and the reverses are quite normal, I find this rather strange :ok:

The obverses of all the coins in my 2017 Mint set are the same as yours Jim.  I reckon they're all a bit :dodgy:

Reverses all look normal.

Just out of curiosity, I checked my 2015 set, and the Obverses are pretty much the same.  Maybe just a tiny bit less severe than the 2017 ones, but still all affected. Now to find the 2016 set to check it out.

May 2016 sets (I bought 6 of them) were all very "Ordinary" But were not covered in all these "Pimples" for want of a better description.
I haven't had a look at my 2015 sets for quite a while and I doubt that I even scrutinised them that hard when they arrived, I will have a look shortly :ok:

I have just had a Good look at my 2015 Mint set and the dollar coin is "pimpled" but the rest of the coins are OK.

Is this just the orange peel effect, or something similar? Although I thought that only happens to gold and copper coins.
