I cannot find the PCGS 2014 $1 mule on PCGS website which was shown on a Facebook page and I'd appreciate a link to it if anyone can find it

Is that the link posted by AJ in post #307 on this page?

Here we go again...

Is it humanely possible to leave this thread alone until someone's able to offer fresh insight about this coin? I think it's embarrassing that we spend so much time talking about mint sport rather than legitimate errors. All it really does is encourage mint employees to make even more "errors" for us to talk about.

I think we should add a new section to this forum called "mint sport", and move all the articles about mint sport into it, so they do not clog up the "varieties and errors" section, which is meant to focus on accidental errors rather than deliberate ones.

As far as I'm concerned, the 2014 ANZAC $1/10c mule is neither a "variety" nor an "error", so it really doesn't belong in this part of the forum. If it did, then we might as well create threads about every piece of mint sport imaginable, and include them all in this subtopic.

Too many collectors mistake mint sport for legitimate errors, so we need to do our bit to maintain a clear distinction between them. Otherwise, we are devaluing our hobby, and allowing corrupt mint workers to set the rules for us, instead of setting the rules ourselves.

Yes, it may be fun to have a 2014 ANZAC $1/10c mule, does anyone really believe that this coin was authorised by the mint, or that it was produced by accident? If not, then it is neither a variety nor an error, and it should be treated accordingly.

No this is an interesting discussion and doesn't encourage RAM employees to make more errors whatsoever
I find it intriguing how any employee can simply do this in the first place with all the security and cameras on the factory floor
I am following with interest the court case involving the 2007 5c double headers as well

Check this one out. Recently sold on eBay. Item number is 223048540381. Just search the number and you'll see it. There has been a number of 'spectacular' mint 'error' coins in uncirculated condition for sale on eBay from sellers who are unsurprisingly from act.

Check these ones out too:
253751763547
253751743728

Seller of the above two items has previously also sold similar recently dated error coins. Not sure if it is just me but it smells fishy.

Seems to be a bit of downsizing going on.

I see it now, but it's a 2015 not a 2014: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Australian-mint-error-2015-1-one-dollar-10-cent-mule-/223048540381?hash=item33eebaa0dd%3Ag%3A4kcAAOSwLhZbKd7H&_nkw=223048540381&_sacat=0&_from=R40&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&nma=true&si=aHxfHFQLktt4qML28ykx%252BZeNDjQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

$760 seems cheap too.

Interesting that all these spectacular error coins are "Uncirculated mint condition".
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.
