Hi Jeff,

If you don't find a J soon, let me know.
I have 3 spares.

Cheers

Thanks Steve.

I have reported some excellent noodling finds recently. My latest is anything but;
•$200 of 50¢ coins for one 1980 double bar!

Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

That's no good Jeff! Did you check any 69s for a Yarra?

JeffH

That is too tedious a task for me, especially as coins that vintage are rather well worn.
Tell you what though; Any '69 I find I will pack up and send to you to check for die markers. And you can take all the credit for any you find.

I pulled a "H" dollar from the till today, and a "Z" last week,
so these coins are definitely circulation coins. :)
Also pulled a nice United Nations 20c too.

Jeff, I know exactly what you mean, it is such a hard task trying to spot the markers amongst the circulation wear. I do have one I've put away (somewhere) that I felt looked the goods. I wouldn't put you to the trouble of saving them. I'm sure I get your pond returns anyway as I don't usually find much. :laugh2:

But gee Jeff, I do really appreciate the offer to hold them for me. (I probably would have taken you up on it but I have so many things going on at once lately I'm even more mental than I was before). Fortunately the forum gives me a time to step back and actually ....... breathe for a minute!

JeffH

Someone has just cashed in a large lot of coins.
So far I have gone through $500 of $1 coins for little result -three alphabet but still not the elusive "J" (for Jeff?).
I have $200 of 50¢ and $400 of 20¢ to go through now. That should be enough to find something decent.
Judging from the number of coins -I think the bank still has another few bags- I would say it must have been a big money box; maybe one of those giant banknote ones.

P.S. The mail has just arrived. No bills today (good) and a $1 "J" (better).
       Thank you Nancy.

Hopefully the 20c and 50c pieces deliver.

JeffH

Nothing noteworthy. Exchanged them today for $200 of 50¢, $100 of 20¢ and $200 of $1. I think that is the last of the cashed in lot.

Enough of the vicissitudes of noodling. Next time I post here will be if I have turned up something special.

Haha.

I've got five rolls of 5c pieces on my desk that I still haven't got around to cracking open...

JeffH

1985 and 1993 50¢ this morning.

Back on track Jeff  :)

I went through the 5c rolls and found no keepers, though one turned out to be entirely uncirculated 2019 (IRB) coins.
