3. cataloguing - I can't keep up with what I already have!!

and so on
Yes, it can be a problem. I don't have much in the way of catalogues though, I tend to use online resources. I'm a cheap ass. :)

I mean cataloguing my coins into their proper albums
I get muddled up a lot of the time
I try to have them in years, then better grades of the years, then my books of coloured pennies and halfpennies, then some year sets, then the silver coins, not forgetting the pcgs cases, then the  decimals,
then the pnc's , then the little mint booklets, then the MYO
and so on
then the errors, then the die varieties, then the tokens and medallions
almost done
then there are a few bags of coins & rolls of coins, the proof sets and their big cases, a box of mint pretties in their nice cases that no body sees because they are in a box
the boxes of storage stuff - coin pages, flips, eagle mounts, capsules
almost done but for sure I have forgotten something!! ha ha

then the bags of coins in little packets because I took then out of the numis albums and threw the albums away, so now they shuffle around in little bags!!
I probably don't have as much as most members here but there would have to be a few thousand coins to be catered for

then there are the actual coin catalogues but I only really have about a solid row on a bookcase of those. I don't bother to keep the magazines anymore as we had stacks of those at one stage both old and recent as well as the auctions catalogues

so all up it is becoming a right pain in the rear
I need a room for this junk!!
not worth all that much but my hobby and it keeps me out of the bars late at night

ps
i'd like to be organised like you and have everything beautifully catalogued & photographed - very classy!!

Stop it! Stop it! You're doing my head in. :)
You have reminded me, why I only collect circulated coins. No PNCs, no slabs, no rolls, no bags, etc. Just a single coin from each year and each mint. Pop them into a 2x2, file them in order in a cut down A4 boxes and the whole collection is stored on a single shelf. I think it's the CDO in me. It's like OCD, but the letters have to be in order!!

ha ha
that is hilarious!!!
it was doing my head in when I wrote it and I was going to delete it as it really was a early morning waffle
but then it was a sort of snap shot of typical collecting !!

my hubby likes the red coin boxes and stores a lot of coins that way too
great space saver technique there - thanks for sharing

I think they would be, with a mintage of 10,000,000, but I have no other information to confirm that.

Thanks!

I'm on the last page of my Bird Collection, and so far I have listed 316 coins, but there are some coins I have that aren't on the list yet, but will be by the end of today.

 I'm listing them by:
Country, Bird, Date, Denom, KM/Y#

Oops, off topic. Smack hand!

Chilly day but this is the warmest spot in the house and in direct line of sight of the wood heater.

I actually do have an electrician's license too!
That cable is back to the computer in the next room so I can transcribe from vinyl to MP3.

You know they have usb record players these days and can get them pretty cheap if you look around :)

Now why would I buy a cheap (i.e. crap) USB record player when I have a nice Garrard Zero 100 turntable with a good Shure cartridge?
Cheap units wear records rather quickly.

I dreamed there were rats in the house last night. Obviously my sub-conscious self can't spell!
