Regardless of the fat cats who own the papers and RAM not directly offering the coins to their customers you got to admit this is a great way to promote interest in coins and our hobby to the general public

Nice point Runway, that's how I'm looking at this. If this program gets more collectors on board then it can't be a bad thing. And I can confirm that those dollar coins are under lock and key according to my Newcorp sources.

So am I correct in thinking that the only way to order a set is to subscribe to this shitty newspaper so I can access the "reward"? My enthusiasm for this set has suddenly nosedived.

Interesting that someone has the set on eBay already.
Why would you pay $100.95, including postage, just to be one of the first to have the set? If you really want them then buy the papers and the whole set will cost you about $60 (depending on what state you are in).
My newsagent will take pre-orders and put them aside -pay for the papers and you don't even have to come in every day. He will even dispose of the unwanted paper for you!
I am of two minds if it is even worth it. Maybe I will sit back and see what they are selling for on eBay in a few months time.
