do you get sea sick Steve?
or are those ships so big that you don't feel as if you are on a boat?

I do get sea sick on smaller vessels, but I have not felt sea sick while cruising on larger ships.
If the waves get big though, than can still move around. They have stabilisers that can lessen the roll
(side to side rocking), but does not help with the pitch (forward and backward rocking).

I wondered about those as well, but never did find out what they were.
Certainly didn't need jet engines, most of the time we only did about 13 knots.

I also noticed that she has changed Registration Ports from "Hamilton" to "London".

Must be cheaper to register in London this year. :)

Our cabin, er, I mean Stateroom, was on the side you photographed, just above the lifeboats and midship.

thanks steve
I used to get violently sea sick but have only ever been out on smaller boats but out into international waters so there were times when she'd be a tad rough
never stopped me from going out but it wasn't pleasant being so sick

I read through the cruises last night and with me not being a flyer it just might be the way for me to get overseas in more ways than one!! I have always wanted to go to hong kong

Those things either side of the Stack, (chimney for those non seaman types), are in fact jet engines.   They are there to provide extra power, electricity, when required for berthing and anchoring times.   I understand that they are gas turbines.

That one isn't available now until next year . I'd love to see Japan.  My father was there in the first of the occupational forces so I grew up with his war photo albums. It would be nice to see the rebuilt country. Well see . Lot of $$ but I have now reached the stage in my life where I am going to spend it on me while I am still tickin' ha ha

ausjack

Do you still have the album RG, and why the hell not 'cause ya can't take it with ya :)
