2nd round of $1k x $5 = a few BA08 and BA06, but F at best, so back into circulation they go.

Will try and get another batch of $5, but might be testing the patience of my tellers...and I'm using two different banks. I guess some banks don't have much of a tolerance for such activity.

try asking to get them in as that's what I had to do here except with coins as the bank is only a small branch so don't carry much change so if I get a bag it wipes them out so I ask a few days before if they can get me some and it hasn't been a problem  and you can only try :)
A wise person knows there is something to learn from everyone.

Be polite and honest. Be a regular customer and only see them when they are quiet. If someone gets short with you give the bank a miss for a couple of weeks. They may have just been having a bad day and will forget that they got annoyed with you. Try to identify the freindliest teller and learn their name, hobbies etc. Always remember to ask tthem about their day then hobby, family whatever they have told you about them. Take your time to get to know them and for them to get comfortable with you.

Excellent advice serial! I've done that for a few yrs and it pays off. The tellers at the counter have 'change trays'.....cents, nickels, dimes,  quarters, and dollars in a tray. Every time I go in there I look at the tray and sometimes I see a 'bright' (silver) coin in the tray (the coins are stacked on their sides showing their edges). I ask for that coin and am presented with it. I only get about 3 or 4 silver coins a yr, but silver is silver.

I think part of the frustration from my local teller is that they have to individually count each note before handing it over.

I was going to reduce my burden by going in less frequently but for a higher quantity of notes. Not sure how that would play out.

Will head back in today and see what happens.

When I use to work at the ticket booth at the cinemas, I use to always look out for notes as they came in.  Over 3 years I picked up many NCLT coins and a few shillings, but the crisp notes were very rare to come by.

We've gone back to paying cash for most things and always check our notes from the ATM. Picked up consecutive AA $50 last week but seems they're not worth so much anyway. ATM also spat out 10 consecutive $20 late on Melbourne Cup day but again might be hard to make a profit.
