Australian coin

Maybe stop the lens down (that is bigger F number) a little could help. Also try experimenting with diffusing your lights a little -a front cover cut from a translucent milk bottle or similar could be a good "Heath Robinson" experiment. Don't melt the plastic though!
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

Just mucking about with it at the moment .
I will get serious when I change to the TAMRON SP AF 90mm f/2.8 F2.8 DI MACRO 1:1 Lens :ok:
It left Perth today so I should have it tomorrow :)

It is a bit weird looking through a view finder instead of just looking on the screen when I shoot a pic.
When I get around to tethering it to the computer it shold be more user friendly

have you tried getting your lights to shine on a 45% angle instead of directly onto the coin?

I haven't relay set anything up properly yet, I am waiting for the Macro lens to arrive.
Just wanted to shoot something, A bit like when you get a new rifle and blast away at a target until you get used to it :)

hhhmm true but I will live with good health care close by, low transportation cost, free regular inner-city entertainment and greater number of amenities.
:P
oh and did I mention a larger pool of people wanting to sell their "inherited" collections :)

Each to their own Mate, I personally couldn't live the "Battery Hen" existence of the City.
When I left the UK I was living in London which would make Perth look like a small country town and I don't miss it one iota :)
I live about 30k's out of Geraldton which has good health care (Not that I need it) and all the shops etc. that most people would need ( NO coin stores though) :dash1:
I never need to lock up the house or worry about noise or unsocial people annoying me.
My nearest neighbour is 7k's away so no problem having a "Shin Dig" here :)
YES there are some advantages living in the City But not enough to tempt me to move there.

Collecting coins is not about having the best, but loving what you have ...

A bit dark and the details are hard to see But what a lovely coin.
Has to be MS65 at least.
I am by no means an expert but increase the lighting and the ISO and I think you will get a better image I think.
