For the Moderators:

Is there any way that I can block out any TOPICS that I find uniteresting or not to my taste.

There are several TOPICS now in this forum that I am really not interested in or that the discussions therein are "off this planet" and I can't make head or tail of any of it.

That sounds like a good idea Goldie.

ausjack

just don't look at them as there's heaps of threads that don't interest others

There seem to be more non numismatic threads than numismatic threads lately. When you do a "latest posts" search you have to wade through these to find the numismatic threads.

ausjack

just click on the coin threads at the main page and that way avoiding the others, sorry it's about the only thing I can think of :(

Precisely what I am talking about emu666.

I thought that this was going to be a forum on coins but lately it has "tracked" off into something else.

If I was an sider looking in, I just might be put off but some of the topics.

All I am after is topics on coins and not some way out spaced topics that have recently been posted.

Speaking as the guilty party behind most of them, I'll tell ya what... I'll stop posting, ok? Might start an aussie coin subreddit instead, that should be fun. :P

And AJ has it dead right... there are lots of threads I don't even look at, and even more I only glance at once in a while.

Y'wanna see more coin threads? Great... post some. I'd love to see them too. But given that the only threads people seem to want involve humungous pics, and I'm not in a situation where I can easily do that, I don't bother. Nobody wants to READ about coins, they just want to drool over piccies. :P

:i_agree: most here have a life and I'd swap anyone anytime if I could :( This is like my second home with some pretty cool members that are like family to me now and as I don't go to many sites except here and feebay pretty much as most are full of kids that talk even more crap that I don't understand or idiots that just want to rip you off and I don't see the problem with trying to make it a community out of the site of us that don't have coin clubs and the like near by but then I live in a hole :dash1: Maybe we should let it all go to hell like the rest of the world, just thought it was nice to have one place that might be friendly or sort of anyway..no wonder I get depressed sometimes.

As far as I know there's no way to block threads, but you can ignore posts by individual members, but beware, if you choose to ignore posts by an individual member, you will block all posts by that member.

To 'ignore' an individual member, go to the their profile and in the middle at the bottom you'll see this:

just click on Add to Ignore List and it's done, to remove them from your Ignore list, do the same, only this time the button will read, Remove From Your Ignore List.

There's no way of blocking threads.  I suggest you do as I do and ignore the threads that don't interest you.

Also, as I told you on the phone, use today's, not unread posts:

View New Posts | View Today's Posts | View Unread Posts | Private Messages (Unread 0, Total 106)

Plus mark all read once you've scanned the ones of interest.

ta and thanks
figured that may have been the case
don't really mind as it was all getting to be a bit too much of a head spin

interest

I know exactly what you mean.
I would like to see more coin or banknote post's.

I try & come up with posts that I think might be of interest to others was a bit surprised that more people didn't add to the 3 1/2 claw thread as I'm sure everyone has one or twenty.

There are a lot of threads that I don't look at, I haven't blocked anybody in the hope that they will add to a thread.
PLEASE POST MORE THREADS EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING TO ADD
