Silver down to A$109 over night,Investors think its a bubble and their will be a major correction soon,time will tell.

Professor on ABC Radio this morning explaining the demand for Silver that has caused the rise,stockpiling by Solar & Car Industries,Batteries & Data centres etc.
Worrying thing was China stockpiling like they have been doing with Iron Ore,possible conflict/war on the horizon,probably Taiwan.

Its still trading now - USA $75 an ounce, they only take Jan 1 and Dec 25 off, not like us who go into hiatus until February.

I was on holiday last week, hence no coin and I haven't bough anything for a while as most online dealers, sellers and bricks and mortar shops shut down at least to the 5th in sleepy old New Zealand.

Thanks Ralf. I Googled the value of 1 mark in 1875. This is what I found....
"In 1875 Germany, a 1 Mark silver coin was a significant piece of currency, equivalent to about half a day's wages for a skilled worker or roughly a week's food for a family, meaning you could buy everyday necessities like a modest meal, bread, a liter of milk, or basic goods, but it wasn't "chump change" – it was a solid amount for daily transactions. "

Silver A$140 ounce last nite,no one i know can believe it including dealers.

Experts late last year were saying there would be a massive correction,hasn't happened yet.

It did a bit of a correction today and dropped about $10, but heading upwards again.

Its been a quieter day on the metal markets, but still too high, especially in our Neuva Zelando pesos de worthlesso.
Silver is $160 an ounce, up to 8 months ago, if it was over $40 we were concerned.

A coin for you all. Apologies if it has been shown, but this is not the standard one I sent to Trigg, this version is a silver ring with a brass centre and quite scarce.

It was issued in 1994 to celebrate 225 years of Cook exploring the New Zealand coastline, he spent 5 months before moving off to Australia (Oct 1769 - March 1770) and thus why Australia celebrate their Cook anniversaries from 1770 not 1769 like us. Nyah! New Zealand came first!

It was the last time they could celebrate Cook, in 2019 with all the anti colonisation movements and Maori ressurgence, it was considered racist to issue coins to celebrate such a villain (Words of an activist Maori party here), and thus Reserve bank went woke and celebrated mythical explorers Kupe and Maui (None are known or proved to have existed) to remain woke and pc.

Cool coin Steve. I don't have a huge collection of Canadian coins. Mostly maples and their wildlife series. Although they cost heaps initially the silver price currently makes them look cheap.

That is a lovely Endeavour Tane. And as far as I understand it Cook visited your neck of the woods and discovered us trying to take a short cut home, hence 1770 for us.
"I'll just cut across this big patch of empty water and... what the hell is that?"
