oh yeah!

great photos Trout
I will suggest a flat plain background for your photos
I use the paper for my coin flips
or black/white thick calico

A nice soft clean towel is far kinder on my coins than paper Me thinks :)

that is true
but your plain background will highlight the coin better
and not have the photo quite so busy

calico is soft - I have nice thick calico that I bought for taking photos
even a velvet can look a solid colour at the right angle/distance

just a suggestion anyways, not the Gospel according to Robbie

I may have to "Rat" Mrs Trouts sewing stuff :diablo::)

PPH and I picked these up on the 'bay a couple of weeks ago.  Issued in 1990 by the RAM and designed by Michael Meszaros (son of Andor Meszaros).  They are the "Courtship" series of art medals and have the common reverse of an apple with a bite taken out of it.  Each one is 50mm and is 71 grams of sterling silver.  We picked up the lot plus the silky oak box they were issued in for about $24 per ounce of silver.  Not a bad premium for such lovely looking things.  2000 were minted but only 800 were issued with the balance melted down.
