I found these 2 coins today, in the till at work.

The Volunteers $1 is about uncirculated. The
picture doesn't to it justice. Must have just
come out of someones collection.

Nice find. It looks like Woolies has had bags of the new $2 delivered this weekend. Went in there yesterday and today and twice came out with the new $2 without actually asking for them. Went back tonight and the lady at the register offered me a bag but only as a swap as she didn't want to run out of $2 coins.

Unfortunately this was not in my change.

My eagle eyed, coin collecting publican nearly put this in the till but had a second look and put it aside. Lucky her!

She says she likes to noodle the change before doing the banking but usually doesn't have enough time. I said she should go through the charity "bin" when bagging up the cash but she says that takes too long. I now have the job -unlike in the services I put my hand up and volunteered.
What! Ulterior motive you say. Never. I resent resemble that remark.

P.S. That is not fingers holding the coin. A plastic clip aka (thanks ausproofs for teaching me that) a clothes peg.

Withdrew $200 from an ATM today and received four consecutive serial 09 $50 notes. Don't tell me that Armaguard rotates the stock!
Would have to assume at least one, and probably several, bundles of eight year old notes have just seen daylight for the first time.

I've found aUNC $50 notes dated 2009 in my area, so I'm not surprised at all. I reckon they're still releasing them all into circulation, despite the presence of newer ones dated 2010-2014. ;)

LucasJ

There must be a few NOS notes floating around as I scored a crisp UNC 2008 $20 out of the self serve checkout at Kmart on Saturday

JeffH

A Paralympian $2.
And a 2011 10¢! The first I have found.

I withdrew $500 from Weston Creek ACT Commonwealth Bank ATM last week and all 10 notes were consecutive 2009 $50 they were new condition but I just changed them for coin rolls

A 1972 5¢ and a paper $5 note. The note is nothing special, common signature and stained -catalogue value all of.......................(drum roll please maestro).................$5.
The excitement of getting one of those only lasted as long as it took to actually look at it.

I don't have any internet at present (day six and counting). Thank goodness the local council has free, for ½hour, computers at the library. NBN, via my ISP is supposed to be coming this afternoon to check the connection.

I found a 2016 "Peacekeeping" 20 cent.
One of the newspaper coins. :)
