I looked through quite a few of these coloured Black Caviar coins yesterday to pick a good one and I don't think they've done a great job with aligning the colour. Lots were out of whack.

I was at Southern Cross when his shipment arrived. Had a look at them all, and I was not even slightly tempted to add one to the big box of stuff I bought. Overpriced substandard souvenir crapola, in my opinion. :P

But this 1988 UNC dollar with the multiple cracks and big cud on the other hand... an absolute steal, as was the obverse half of a 1972 10¢. :yahoo:

I think that silver is the best metal to make coins out of as it looks far better than the ali broze or cu/nickel :ok:

NICE picups Fulvio:yahoo:
Now all you have to do is find the other half of that 10 cents:angel:
I scored 2x 1984 and a 88 in pristine condition a few weeks back in a $50 noodle, I'm not sure if it was from someone's collection or the mint dumped some of its leftovers into the pond?

I think these sorts of things are probably drug-***ed losers spending stuff they stole from us. Or maybe disgruntled wives depositing star notes and the like. :(

And yeah, I now need not one, but TWO of those Reverse halves, the other one to go with the 1978 I posted a couple weeks ago.

Oh noes!!!!! Is THAT why I'm getting so little?? Noodling all your rejects? I'll have to go back to NAB methinks. :)

cool cud
they are worthy of the Friday Photos thread Fulvio

is that $5 AA 81 - does that mean that it was printed in 1981 ?

Fulvio

No, they were first issued in 1992, in the range AA00 to AB19.
The year numbering started the following year.
