I am still going through your list but will PM you with others that you seem to have missed.

I have been told that the alignment is not distinguishable between the presses based on reeding

It isn't.  Regardless of what some people might think.  It changes all the time.

under good instruction i.e. someone who knows more about coins than us
we have trialled it ourselves at the gallery - doesn't hold up

ps
but the die errors ... well that is another definitive way to pick the difference - if you know which press it came from in the first place

I should add to this that if a press was set up at a show and the dies were not changed during the show or the collar die wasn't moved then conceivably the reeding *could* be the same for all coins struck at that show.  But the only way to be sure is to either see the maintenance records for the press at the show or to own all the coins.

Shouldn't the silver & gold coins be part of a separate list?
As per the Macca's book.
Only say this because they are made from a different metal &
they are worth more than a dollar, even thought they share the same face value.

It would be easy enough to separate the silver and gold. I wouldn't do it based on value. Some silver coins are worth about $50 where the 2000 Victoria Cross goes for more than double that.

Nice work trout. Is that 2012 Wheat proof the one from the 2 coin set? I just checked australian-threepence.com and couldn't see a 2008 MOR Silver Proof listed there, does it come from a single box or a set? The 2004 Holographic Proof is not listed at australian-threepence.com either any details on that one?

Cheers, that's one more silver for my check list, 55 silver and 6 gold. I had the holographic coin listed as a coloured coin like the ones from 2002 & 2003. Looking at it now its actually quite stunning. Is it the only one issued? The other lists stands at 288 coins.

Looking at the back issues of the Mint Issue magazine on the RAM website it shows the 2008 masterpieces set was a 2 coin job relating to aviation ie. no MOR. There was a silver proof year set but that has the Planet Earth design in it.

Yes you are correct, my stuff up.
The 2008 set has the planet earth coin(that's why I bought it) coin in it.
It also has the planet earth Silver proof coin as well :good:
PP recons the finish on the holographic coins are pretty crappy, I hope mine is an exception to that rule.

Compared to regular proof coins they might be. I wonder if its got something to do with achieving the holographic affect? Talk about rainbow colours in pennies, this coin has vertical rainbow stripes which are apparent as you move it about under light, while at the same time the stripes remain // to the axis of the coin. The roos, depending upon how you hold the coin can each appear with different colours. Its a trip man!

I just meant the value of the metal, not the value of the coins.

No worries interest, your idea was a good one. I separated the spreadsheet into gold, silver and alloy (AlBr).

Just looking at list & notice Rolf Harris in at #174
Should that be in this list?
(Or should Rolf be on another list down at the Police station?) also
2009 is missing the 500 Specimen quality MOB coins for Berlin Money Fair. (acknowledged in maccas pp154 2009c)
