From the mint's email on 20/10/2022:
QuoteThursday 17 November 2022
  • 2023 Six-Coin Uncirculated Year Set - RRP $33

  • 2023 Six-Coin Proof Year Set - RRP $130

It doesn't give any more details though.

Do you think they can do a Kings head coin set that quickly?

jens coins

They have done  Kings head coins in the UK

I'd like to know if there is a theme also. Probably King Charles alleviates the need for a theme.

WavyTwenty

Do you think it would be poor taste for the 2023 theme to be the death of a Queen?

Hahaha

brismike

I think these 2023 Set coins will still have Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. No mention has been made of a change to King Charles III yet.

Australian Decimal, UK Decimal, USA & Euro Coins are what I collect.

Mister T

It would be a good way to issue two sets for one year.

gweidion

For heaven's sake don't tell them that.

A thought, the technicians at the Mint could swap over in a couple of days (just download the CAD file from London, pop that into the scanner)  that's the easy quick part.
Getting the Act through Parliament is the bottleneck.
Relax guys, that will only take a couple of years!!
Fred.

I would have thought that was automatic.
It doesn't require an act of parliament to approve the new regent, just one to get rid of one.
