2020 Tooth Fairy carded $2

[Pattern penny]

The release of the 2020 Tooth Fairy carded $2 coin was obscure except for a 15th May release date.  I was expecting the 2020 Tooth Fairy carded $2 to be available through the RAM eshop.  Little did I know they were only available through coin dealers.  Talk about a lack of communication from RAM.

I suspect that some coin dealers did not sell their full issue of 2020 Tooth Fairy carded $2 coins at the official issue price.   I have seen one seller on Ebay who has 3 lots of 100 for sale with each block of 100 at $5999.99.

Greed is now dominating coin collecting with speculators buying up new issues with all they can get their hands on.  The 2020 RAM Legends set and the Melbourne ANDA releases are other examples with so many of these coins for sale on Ebay at crazy prices.  What chance has the collector.

:welcome:

Coins and Stamps were never a level playing field, dog eat dog when there are big $ at stake.

My beef was large USA Dealers getting special treatment on bulk buys from the Perth Mint, not a worry when the A$ was 90c ,just buy the Silver/Gold Coins from the USA,but with the A$ struggling in the 60c range plus Ebay introducing the GST
its not viable anymore.

Boycott this RAM Dealer there is plenty of decent ones out there

These 2020 $2 Tooth Fairy coins have gone crazy the last few weeks.

I agree.  I just don't understand why.  The 2021 Tooth Fairy has also increased in price considerably and the 2022 Tooth Fairy has also increased in price on Ebay even though the 2022 Tooth Fairy is still available from some coin dealers for the $15 issue price.

Sounds a lot like the Dutch tulip craziness to me.
