Good one Jeff.

Fred - It is sad isn't its ? We are surrounded by greed where people only care about making a quick $$.. To give you perspective, Woolies and Coles have been feeding 50 million people a week not 25 million over the last few weeks. Thats the level of supply they had to maintain over the last few weeks. It seems you live closer to where I am .. (I am at Rouse Hill .. saw you mention you went to Seven Hills Woolies)..  If you want pain killers etc, go to the big pharmacy in Blacktown, if you want meat got to the butcher at Blacktown .. Pasta the fruit and vegetables shop etc etc.. How do I know, because I have to find the hard way .. I am sure this is true for most suburbs as everyone is lining up at the same place for same stuff.. I work in retail .. (normally I only shop at our supermarkets) but this point in time, you have to look outside of that to find food ..

All the best folks ! hopefully this nasty bug will bugger off soon..

The 2020 Olympics are still on. Earlier today Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach said "we are not putting the cancellation of the Games on the agenda".
How much longer can the I.O.C (and national committees) maintain this fantasy?
If the games do happen it won't be the Olympic Games as we know them. They will need some good spin doctors to try and convince us otherwise. Maybe they should talk to Scotty from marketing.

We have booked, and paid for, fares and accommodation for a planned trip to Fiji in August. Day by day we are thinking it is becoming a less likely prospect. We will just have to wait and see...no point going for two weeks if we have to self isolate for two weeks when we arrive and then another two weeks when we return.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

This announcement from Fiji Airways is not designed to boost our confidence level'
" Fiji Airways will operate one Nadi to Sydney return service on Saturday 21st March and Sunday 22nd March, and suspend the service after that. The suspension schedule will remain in place through the end of May 2020, where further travel restrictions may be announced if necessary."
Along with many more suspensions of flights also announced at the same time.

Cheers, Fred.

That's why we are using so much toilet paper,
one guy coughs and 10 others shit themselves. :)

Guys we just let 50,000 people back into Sydney via planes and boats in the last week.
Most of them fleeing pox ridden countries in panic.
10% of them will have the pox.
We sent them straight home (via a taxi or rail) and gave them a bit of paper telling them to "self isolate"!
Those 5000 people will go straight and kiss all  their relations (heaps), the statue of Fatima and Lord knows what else.
They feel fine NOW so why bother with this silly "self isolate" thing?
Next week will be quiet for the pox curve, but the week after,  maths take over and the curve will bend UP.
There will be pockets of pox explosion and some strong methods limiting the movement of citizens will have to be implemented.
Our local church (Toongabbie) has ceased indoor meetings, will conduct outside services where possible.
I dont think the people in some other churches around Lakemba will have the same attitude.
Think it wont happen here?
Take a quick look at what is happening in Italy where the kiss each other as a matter of course, check out France, Germany and Iraq, Iran where they pray shoulder to shoulder and kiss each other.
We are about 4 weeks behind the rest of the world in the pandemic sequence but it is going to happen.
Twenty % of folks aged over 70 are going to DIE, and i'm NOT going to be one of them!
Keep smiling and take care!
Fred.

Most of the churches, mosques and temples have closed. Which is a good thing... most of the countries are experiencing issues not because of the race or the religion, rather lack of early action from the leaders and lack of commonsense from the community. Did you see the pic from Bondi Beach yesterday ? It was packed.

Maybe try silver. It has anti bacterial properties. Wonder if it would work for viruses too?

Could this virus be natures way of balancing out the population. We are getting top heavy
with us baby boomers and we are most at risk. :(

It seems that younger people are not as immune as first thought.
This is bad for everyone.

re#37.
Basil!
After reading the links I did 2 things:
cleaned my phone with sellys mould killer,
Started sucking on a 1930 penny!

Well, not the last.
however I have  replaced most of the gal pipes in my house and the run from the street with heavy gauge copper and crimp or swage fittings.
That was about 10 years ago.
Odd thing after I did that we got less "colds" on the average than before.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I live up on the North Coast & was hoping it would be a long time before we had covid-19 up here being a little bit isolated.
BUT
On Thursday we hear a 14 year old girl has tested positive in a school less than 10 minutes away. It's now Saturday & we now hear that she has been in contact with 60 people who are now having to self isolate. How many people did that 60 come in contact with?

MY WORST FEARS!!! I'm in the 70's wife late 60's where else has this girl been, know what I mean, local Coles with parents, who knows? Guess what, this young Asian/Australian girl dose not know how she was infected.
It is now in this medium sized community geez.

My wife & I have a very similar plan to Kel, but having to go out for staples etc.
Having recently beaten bowel cancer I have to go to the loo 5 to 6 times per day, due to the fact of having so much bowel removed, TP is going to become an issue for me.
One of my friends told me to use the news paper, but i told him I get my news from my IPAD so that was going to be a bit hard to do.

The bloody press have so much to answer for with all this hoarding that is going on, the continually show empty shelves & showing panic buying, if they started to show warehouses with stock ready to be delivered to shops maybe people would realize they don't have to buy 20 Pkts of loo paper, flour & rice . A guy I chat with on line works at the good guys & they have sold out of freezers, a staff member from woolies told me that they prepare for 3 months before & for Christmas they have now sold 7 times what the would at Christmas.

But having said that I can understand people hearing that some countries are going into complete lockdown when will it happen here? & I had better be prepared.

I don't know if this gov't can be trusted, Scomo lied to us about the drought package, that never existed, lied about the fires, the recovery package that never existed, lied about the sports rort, now he wants us to trust him.

There has now been 1,068 confirmed cases in Australia, with 7 deaths as of Sat 21st March.

I have lived through the best of time, now I get to live through the worst of times.
It scares me this Chinese Virus

Lack of action by our government is completely responsible for the severity of the disaster that is coming.
We will be like Italy very soon.
They have done nothing effective to "flatten the curve"
Testing has been limited I'm a way that guarantees you can not find and stop cases.
More sick people have been constantly allowed in with no controls on them passing on the disease.
We have had months of notice and no meaningful action.
The numbers they have found are a drop in the ocean.
It's out in our communities and spreading uncontrolled.
There will be no proper care for many sick people.
Keep yourself safe.

I gargle (then drink) scotch twice a day.......may not keep COVID-19 at bay but tastes good and I always feel better after.

Love that theory  :taunt:

But in all seriousness, we should all do the right thing and avoid crowds. That is the right thing to do for our familes and the community. There is only one way to stop this that is to stop the spread.
