There is a brand new coin determination: #6-2019

It includes several coins which seem to be for circulation either through the banks or private sector partners like Woolworth.
Amoung my suspects for circulation:

---6 coloured $2 commemorating the 2020 Olympics
---a coloured $2 ''End of WWII''

Perhaps:
---$1 Quantas Centenary
---50 Cent ''Indian Pacific 1970--2020''

I do not understand the $2 coin under R118. Could be something very Australian?

I hope R122 is a joke.

The ''Gold Rush $1'' (R123 and following) seem to be collector coins only?

Reverse R118
A design consisting of:
(a) immediately inside the rim of the coin, a stylised border consisting of vegetation and a wooden door; and
(b) in the centre, and partially obscuring the stylised border, a representation of a fairy carrying a tooth surrounded by a stylised representation of fairy dust.; and
(c) the following:
(i) "2 DOLLARS"; and
(ii) "BK".
Hmmmm....Looks like The tooth Fairy to me.

Reverse R122
A design consisting of:
(a) a stylised representation of 5 kangaroos; and
(b) "1 DOLLAR"; and
(c) a square enclosing a stylised representation of a currywurst sausage on a fork. :taunt:

May be it's supposed be a mint mark. ?

They had that on A $1 MOR coin at some coin fair overseas earlier in the year.

Isn't there a German curry wurst coin already? Why one for Australia?

I agree on the tooth fairy.
Thinking is dangerous, it makes you think. That\'s why many people avoid it.

It's not a coin, it's a medal made by the state owned mint in Berlin (mint-mark on German coins ''A'').

The tooth Fairy...ah.
Making it a circulation coin could get the younger folks perhaps interest in coins again.

Anyway, some interesting coins planned for 2020.

There was the ampelman privy-marked coin for the German market a few years ago - something similar I guess?

Triggersmob

I look forward to the $1 circulation coin,
but I won't be collecting the 11 piece set.
Ralf, just for your information, there is no
U in QANTAS. It's actually an anagram for
"Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial service"

The letter ''q'' is always followed by an ''u'' in a word in the German language. When not paying enough attention writing in a differnt language Quantas happens :blackeye: Oops

The eleven set piece is really nice but way, way too expensive.

The rule in English is the same -after all it is a Germanic language- but rules don't apply to acronyms.

That rule is obsolete. Many words in English don't have a U after the Q as the majority of words in the English language have foreign origins including from languages where that rule never applied. for example in playing Scrabble there are 71 words permitted with a Q but no U including words of Chinese (qi), Hebrew (sheqel) and Arabic (qat) origin plus words of modern English origin (qwerty).
