Something similar happened to us but two grown ups. Opened the front door at our son's place Christmas day coming to see grandkid's presents. There, sitting in the hall, was a chocolate Labrador pup with a big red bow and a Happy Christmas sign around his neck. Our previous Labrador was not long deceased.
We still have Barnaby.
